One of those three teams will surely win the championship. I can't see any team in the East taking the healthy Bucks side to 7 games.

IDK if they'd win the series but I wouldn't sleep on the Raptors. I daresay this vintage is just about as good as last year's team; Siakam is a legit top ten player, Lowry and FVV provide excellent direction, even the likes of Norman Powell just won player of the week on the back of a three game stretch where he averaged 31 points. Everybody's stepping up.

Even so, they were all firing last year but still needed Kawhi to produce MVP level performances to win it.

And for the Warriors to get injured. Not that they have my sympathy. They won plenty of championships against rivals who were injured.

Rudy Gobert is a fucking stupid selfish plum.

:?

He fell ill 2 days later, and the Thunder v. Jazz game has just been postponed:

https://twitter.com/SportsCenter/status ... 9605817344

"You are all safe"...
Royce Young is reporting on ESPN that the Thunder's head doc came "sprinting" out to the court moments before tip and that the belief is that it's related to the players involved in this game.

Gobert + Mudiay are the unwell players. The latter didn't act like a douche.

It feels like they're going to go to games behind closed doors league-wide but that's only gonna last a couple weeks before a player or staff member gets confirmed. It's completely irresponsible, especially in Sacramento, to still be having fans at games.

Gobert has been confirmed to have it.

NBA has just suspended the season.

Following Rudy Gobert's positive COVID-19 test, the NBA is in an indefinite suspension.

Yup - had to be done.

Prior to tip-off as the game was delayed, Chris Paul ran over to the Utah bench and said “what’s wrong with Rudy?” and they all yelled for him to get away. Now all the players are quarantined in their locker rooms, being tested for the virus.

Almost all the college conference tournaments have now been canceled, with the NCAA Tourney surely to follow (probably suspension rather than cancellation, with the hope of playing it in May or something). Meanwhile the Big Sky Tournament is currently scheduled to tip off in an hour and a half, and not behind closed doors.

and now

(which is also creating an economic crisis).

There's been reports that Gobert was clowning around and purposefully touching things/people in the locker room (much like he did with the microphones in a press conference a couple of days ago) and that other players are pissed at him. He must be feeling like a real dick right now, but it's probably done the general public a service as a lot more people will realise that the protocols are there for a reason and it's only funny until all of a sudden it's not.

Also, if this turns out to be the end of the season and they don't resume at all, it'll be a damn shame as it has been AWESOME.

There are like 11 or 12 genuinely interesting teams to watch and although only 3 or 4 could realistically win a chip, seeing the Rockets do ultra small ball, the Thunder actually be competitive, the Raps stay competitive or the Sixers and Celts be up and down, it's been fun as f*ck watching this season.

Yeah - I've immensely enjoyed this season.

My favourite Thunder team post KD hasn't hurt that...

Even the freaking Hornets, thanks largely to Devonte Graham, have been a half decent watch at times!

This really sucks. :(

It really does suck, especially now that we've all got way more free time.

I still believe, perhaps for no other reason than I want to, that the season will resume eventually. A workaround of some sort will be devised...there's just too much money at stake.

Looks like 2020 will be known as the universal 'gap year' for everything, including the NBA.

As an NBA fan, I was really looking forward to seeing this play off season unfold. I still think the Bucks would have come out of the east, but that it was a coin toss between the Lakers and Clippers coming out of the West. We also had the Rockets team who could potentially upset.

Looking ahead, I wonder if the 2020/21 season will ever go ahead.

I still feel we'll see something to end the season. The college kids are probably f**ked as far as March Madness goes, and of course there's no next year for many of them. Those are the guys I'm really feeling for, not that I'm particularly into college ball.

It would have to extend way beyond summer to call this season off imo, 60 games played is just too many and the ramifications are too great. That would be one shot gone at Milwaukee keeping Giannis for instance.

I really really really hope they can figure something before long.

Baseball is looking at playing games in empty stadiums in the Phoenix area. Makes a lot of sense as they already have all the Spring Training facilities there and lots of options for games. I think the NBA is looking at Vegas as there are a number of quality venues there and they could probably get one of the major hotel/casinos to just be a compound with basically no one in, no one out except for buses to the arenas. Basketball is in a tough spot, though, because how do you go from basically offseason to playoff intensity in a matter of weeks?

Feel for Pippen, but his anger was misdirected. A 7 year contract in any sport is surely a bad idea - go ask SBW and the Bulldogs.

Apparently, episodes 3 & 4 focus on Dennis Rodman and Phil Jackson.

I wonder how the documentary will approach Jordan's father getting murdered. It was such a tragic way for a person to go and it must have had a massive impact on Jordan. Yet he kept his composure in front of the cameras that surrounded him daily.

Jordans dad was killed in 3rd title run - that was also when his gambling addiction became big news and arguably pushed him into baseball.

Scottie is one of my all time favourite players but his behaviour in that last year , while understandable, was appallingly selfish. It helps show what an absolute driven legend of the game MJ was though. Interesting to see him as a middle aged man looking back from the comfort of his easy chair with a large glass of whisky though.
