The Nets used 15 players in their opening night win over GS

I would love to see how the game would change if it were like rugby and players couldn't return once subbed or like league and there were limited interchanges.

So should probably get used to games getting postponed like the Houston/OKC one. Harden's the most public with his flouting the regulations, but he wasn't the reason the Rockets couldn't put 8 players out and there will be plenty of others doing it or just being exposed to/catching covid even if they obey the regs.

Wouldn't be mad if Griff brought Love down to New Orleans but Love probably wants another shot with a current contender...

I was just surprised, and though "stoked" might be a bit strong for me I do like it on the whole, as it prevents us from losing him for nothing, or worse, overpaying him next summer.

He wants max money but I don't think he'll get it. He certainly hasn't shown he's worth it post-injury. Don't know though, maybe the knicks or some stupid franchise will go for it.

From a basketball perspective it's essentially a lateral move unless Dipo somehow finds his 17-18 form -- he was showing some flashes this season but odds are his best play is behind him. And so in that light they're really quite similar players from what little I've seen of Lavert.

Interesting tidbit I read (but can't remember where) on the Nets title hopes regarding the Nets shitty defence. In the last 16 years or so, the title winner has had a top 10 ranked defence. The Nets were 13th and they've lost their best rim protector and added a fat fudge who doesn't bother defending half the time. However, as no team (not even the Warriors) has had this level of offensive firepower in that time frame, it'll be damn interesting to see if they can make this work.

I don't disagree with the main message of your post. However, I do think the Warriors with KD, Curry & Thompson had as much firepower if not more than the Nets version of KD, Harden & Irving.

This is going to implode, mark my words. Make fun of KD all you want, God knows I have, but at least his "issues" are related to basketball. But Kyrie is a flake and Harden would rather be at a strip club. And neither of those two can defend anyway.

Nearly, but not quite.

This is purely related to scoring.
KD = KD
Harden > Steph
Kyrie > Klay

That's not to run down Steph or Klay, they're both more efficient scorers and clearly better shooters, but Harden - for all his multitude of faults - is an offensive juggernaut and can score at a volume Steph can't match day in day out. Klay is a top 5 shooter all time but can't match Kyrie for creating his own shot or playmaking in general and lets not forget Kyrie shoots nearly 40% from 3 also.

The Warriors big 3 is clearly better suited to winning overall as they're better suited to playing off the ball (both in skill set and mentality) and they have a massive edge in defence.

Who is going to be the Bosh?

Who actually is the Bosh but they don't realise it? Kyrie?

I reckon KD will put up with them dribbling and hogging the ball until there's a tight game and KD needs it in the clutch and doesnt get it. Then there'll be a clash (like the KD/Draymond moment)

It's a bit of a bind as KD is the best player, but he's also the guy who's shown most recently that he can excel while playing off ball. Harden did it in OKC but he was a young player averaging half as many points as he does now, but he could still be really good playing off ball a bit more. If you go on who is the most junior, it's Kyrie who didn't want to be Robin but is now Alfred.

With a 1 game sample size, Harden is the early Bosh
The shot attempts went 28/25/14 to Irving/KD/Harden

The Miami big 3 shot attempts went roughly 20/18/14 LeBron/Wade/Bosh (wade dropped to 15 when Ray Allen joined) in the regular season. The Warriors truly shared the ball with KD/Steph/Klay all around 18 shots per game. KD and Steph went up to 20s in the playoffs...

Most star players average around 20 shots. Harden is used to about 23 per game over the past few seasons

Big difference is the Warrior trio gelled really well. The Nets trio has only one game together and scored a lot of points but Sexton couldn't miss. You can tell they were trying to help each other maybe too much team focus.

The Warriors were really set up perfectly as all 3 of Klay, Steph & KD are just as effective playing off the ball, the role players were all smart passers and they had a really good D which lead to lots of transition buckets. And they specifically adapted to include KD - I heard a thing about a reporter talking to Steph about how the offence changed when KD arrived and Steph just started talking about how many shot attempts he took the previous season, how many he was taking that season and how many KD was taking. But he knew the percentages down to the second decimal. It was that clearly defined and given the egos involved, the Nets will need to pay attention to that shit closely.

It's too early to tell with the Nets and Kyrie's not gonna be shooting that much every game. I'm sure they'll work out the offensive side ok, there's just too much talent to not succeed. The defence is looking as bad as people thought thought though. Sexton went nuts in double OT, but that shouldn't distract from the fact that the the Nets couldn't put the Cavs away in regulation or OT.

Nets will be fine when they click. They need another big centre. Allen was a loss and he showed why in the Cavs game. Green looks to be a good foil for the big 3 and Jordan is working hard but will need back up. I think they still have 3-4 spots in their roster and will be looking for a couple of up and coming 7 footers.

I dunno if a G League signing is gonna help them that much, but then again Chris Boucher is kicking ass so who knows what's out there? The other option is a buyout guy, though I did hear a good point that with the play in tournament, there's gonna be less teams just giving up and moving off players.

That final 10 seconds was crazy AF.

I saw on Twitter that there's only been 9 times in history a team has come back from 5 or more points down with 10 seconds to play and 2 of those happened in the last two days.
