Yep; however it's also the first game in years where he's had a hard running 12 inside him rather than a second playmaker. Today he had front foot ball and he did well. He's a f*cking good player when he's in form, and if he's back in form, our backline becomes very dangerous.

I thought Hodge was good at 12. Not sure why people don't rate him. Good hands, defended well, took his try well.
I think he's fine, just nothing special. Although this is his first season of professional rugby, so he's got plenty of time to get better.
Disagree about the special, he has it all in spades. Big, fast, soft hands, good lines, mighty boot. Definitely potential to lock down #12 for the next 10 years

Then again, I'm a Rebs fan. But he hits like a mack truck and is muuuuuch quicker than you prolly think

The myth that Foley needs a playmaker at 12 is dead and buried.

Turns out what he needed was Coleman, Timani and Arnold kicking arse at the breakdown.

I know Wales were not great, but you don't bitchslap a tier 1 like that without it being a team effort

Almost seems unfair to single players out, everyone was really good

I think you'll find its mainly brumbies and QLD supporters who are incapable of admitting he plays OK.

Don't be too optimistic after beating a poor very poor Welsh team.
England won't be so soft up front and have great strength in depth.

TBF, any FH will look good if the oppos allow him an armchair ride. Afraid Coleman and co won't get that luxury 80% the rest of the time.

Moriarty was class, he gives the Welsh back row some physicality and go forward that Wales haven't had for some years. That negates the need for Roberts to play, with Moriarty in the side Wales can pick a ball player at 12.

I'll reserve judgement until he puts in a few more good performances, especially as Quade has been so good this season. Certainly a much improved performance.

As for the forwards; what a treat to have a traditional ball running eightman who can play a whole game. First one we've had since Dave Lyons. Hopefully he develops into the first good one since Toutai Kefu

So am I, and the one starting the bandwagon for these things  12 has to be his position going forward, but I think he's going to get some serious competition from Simone and Perese, and Beale too come to think of it.

Genia will play against England so they'll be less free tries given away from a scrum-half's panic.

Agree. Timani did some great things tonight. He's got a lot to improve on but he's big and physical. We've missed that type of player for a long time.

Absolutely!!!
Outside backs score points off good lines and spacing from good fly-half decisions
Foley performs well cause of good service
Good service is possible cause of winning collisions and rucks with physicality by forwards

............................ WAIT this is a TEAM game?!
