Well Played Ireland, the most intense game I've seen in a long time. bit short on the scrums but everything else was absolutely perfect.

nice to have witnessed such a historic occasion.

Top class Rugby in the USA. I regret not going.

It might be the raging hangover, but I was quite relaxed about the loss as it became more and more likely.

Top effort by Ireland. Simply took it to us from the start, and it looks like their fitness is spot on too.

Just a quick log in to offer my hearty congrats to all the Irish lads.
Your team has come close enough on a number of occasions over the years and there was no hint of luck in this match,it was fully deserved.
Hope you all wake up in 3 days time with no recollection.

Well done Ireland. And thank you for a hell of a game I'll never forget. Awesome game. I was smiling at the end. Much to the chagrin of my wife. But there are no excuses. No controversies. No conspiracies. Just the clear fact that the better team won.

I have inhaled too many beers watching at home in the last period to head out into town.

But I am seriously jealous of not being in Chicago tonight ... enjoy, the faithful who made the effort ... 8)

Congrats Irish. Loved the ABd comeback but still cheered every Irish score. Well deserved. Great day for rugby. Expect the ABs to go full tilt in Dublin with a bigger pack.

To the Irish fans,

I was a little bit gutted for you in 2013, when we snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Glad we won, but gutted for you. I knew your first win wasn't far away, and so it proved.

You lot outplayed our lot today, no issues. Take the win, and enjoy it.

See you in two weeks!

Today I cast my mind back to 1997. I was working at a hospital in London and used to chat daily on the ward with a young Irish man about rugby. He's was very ill but hoped to see the Irish tip over Fitzys team on that end of year tour. The AB s won in Dublin that year and my Irish rugby friend died a few days later. Today I think of him and how proud and delighted he would have been of his team.
