While the acting was poor, it's not too bad having a whiny, moody cnut eventually become Darth Vader... what we needed was the transitional period where he grew a pair.

While Darth is a great villain, I never considered him that evil. The Emperor was way worse.

Exactly! So instead of the image of the forbidding, fearsome dark lord of the Sith that we had throughout the original Star Wars movies we are left with an image of that stupid, long haired, spoilt moody twat, who just had his ass handed to him by Obi Wan Kenobi, dressed up in a Darth Vader outfit. It was all so corny. Even the outfit looked stupid to me after that.

Hmmm, perhaps off topic.. But Sephiroth from FF7 would have made a great cinematic viilain....... And I think he did,, Im pretty Sure FF7 AC (CGI Movie) was released in Cinema in Japan...

His evolution from a iconic good guy war hero to a unbelievable bastard... loved it.
