I'm not sure if too many are still on PR but just in case - a quick update on frillage. He moved to the Astley Ainslie Hospital earlier this week after 6 weeks between the Royal Infirmary and the Western General. He will most likely be at the Astley Ainslie for some time rehabbing from a stroke. His physical condition has improved a great deal but he is still struggling with limited speech. He has a way to go yet but he's got plenty determination.

So good to have rugby back.

Since I seem to be the only Scottish poster left, teams for tomorrow are :

Edinburgh

15. Blair Kinghorn (87) 14. Eroni Sau (10) 13. Mark Bennett (36) 12. Chris Dean (88) 11. Duhan van der Merwe (57) 10. Jaco van der Walt (55) 9. Nic Groom (11)

Replacements: 16. Mike Willemse (18) 17. Pierre Schoeman (40) 18. Simon Berghan (78) 19. Jamie Hodgson (6) 20. Nick Haining (11) 21. Charlie Shiel (16) 22. Nathan Chamberlain* 23. George Taylor (20)

Glasgow

1. Oli Kebble (47)
2. Fraser Brown (C) (98)

13. Nick Grigg (69)
14. Tommy Seymour (142)
15. Huw Jones (35)

Replacements

16. George Turner (47)

Unavailable for selection: Alex Allan, Adam Ashe, Hamish Bain, Mesu Dolokoto, Sam Johnson, Lee Jones, Leone Nakarawa, Adam Nicol, Aki Seiuli, Kyle Steyn, Brandon Thomson, George Thornton.

I feel a bit sorry for Rae. He is going to get Schoeman coming on breathing fire to get the starting berth back.

Spectators to be allowed for the return leg next week (also at Murrayfield).

The SRU have been pushing for this to be a test event so this is good. All we need to know now is how many, and how tickets will be made available.

Lots of rustiness, and quite a few unfamiliar faces / units, but Edinburgh choke the life out of Glasgow to win 15 - 30.

Capped by a half the length of the pitch beating many, many players try by Shiel to show why Edinburgh supporters are mystified by his lack of game time.

Edinburgh in the quarters now, Glasgow have no hope any more.

thoughts - Glasgow let Matt Smith go (Im huge fan of) and now play Fagerson at open side? H. Jones at fullback? Wtf. And P.Horne/Grigg in centers. It's a dead end for Jones to play there - Hogg and Kinghorn ahead of him so very little chance to advance. Would that be better to shovel Horne at 15 and put Jones where he belongs, at outseide center with Grigg @12?

The Wandering Spaniard gets MotM for Exeter in the win over Bristol. He has looked solid in every game I've seen him for Exeter, hopefully this heralds a full recovery of his career t the player he looked like he'd become a while back.

That is encouraging news. Please give him our best.

I think most are at a place that is not planet rugby.

Edinburgh throw the dice for this game. Shiel given a start against decent opposition at last, Frosty on the bench does not fill me with confidence as an adequate back up.

Chamberlain will be interesting.

15. Blair Kinghorn (88)
14. Darcy Graham (30)
13. James Johnstone (49)
12. Chris Dean (89) CAPTAIN
11. Duhan van der Merwe (58)
10. Nathan Chamberlain (1)
9. Charlie Shiel (17)

1. Pierre Schoeman (41)
2. Mike Willemse (19)
3. Simon Berghan (79)
4. Nick Haining (12)
5. Jamie Hodgson (7)
6. Magnus Bradbury (75)
7. Hamish Watson (108)
8. Viliame Mata (72)

Replacements: 16. Stuart McInally (143) 17. Rory Sutherland (82) 18. WP Nel (140) 19. Marshall Sykes* 20. Luke Crosbie (40) 21. Roan Frostwick* 22. Jaco van der Walt (56) 23. Matt Gordon*

Glasgow

Nairn must be in the last chance saloon so hopefully he gets on and shows the conversion from phenomenal athlete to rugby player is complete. I'd say essentially Glasgow's first choice pack (once Nakarawa is on) v a mixed bagfor Edinburgh.

1. Oli Kebble (48)
2. Fraser Brown (C) (99)
3. Zander Fagerson (92)
4. Richie Gray (48)
5. Scott Cummings (69)
6. Ryan Wilson (169)
7. Tom Gordon (18)
8. Matt Fagerson (62)
9. George Horne (56)
10. Adam Hastings (43)
11. Ratu Tagive (12)
12. Stafford McDowall (20)
13. Nick Grigg (70)
14. Tommy Seymour (143)
15. Huw Jones (36)

Replacements

16. George Turner (48)
17. Charlie Capps (0)
18. Enrique Pieretto (0)
19. Rob Harley (231)
20. Chris Fusaro (178)
21. Ali Price (87)
22. Pete Horne (170)
23. Robbie Nairn (9)

Unavailable for selection : Alex Allan, Adam Ashe, Hamish Bain, Mesu Dolokoto, Sam Johnson, Leone Nakarawa, Adam Nicol, Aki Seiuli, Kyle Steyn, Jale Vakaloloma.

First 15 minutes spent trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to play at Baa Baas pace, next 10 minutes knocking off the rust, and now looking settled and going through the gears. Defence very sound, though Georgia not exactly posing a threat.

Let’s get Finn on to make it an even contest.
