NZ herald poll.

...and 26% don't rate the assistants.

Quote:
A poll of over 100 Super Rugby Aotearoa players have revealed 46 per cent believed New Zealand Rugby got the All Black coaching appointment wrong while another 26 per cent claimed they were “happy with Ian Foster but not the assistant coaches’’.

The pool was conducted by Country Sport Radio producer Sam Casey, who told the New Zealand Herald he had asked over 100 players 40 questions about the state of New Zealand rugby.

Casey revealed only 28 per cent were happy with the All Blacks coaching appointments.

Foster – Steve Hansen’s assistant-coach for eight years – got the head coach’s job in a contest with former All Blacks loose forward Scott Robertson, who led the Crusaders to three consecutive Super Rugby titles.

Which is interesting because that’s more support than in here - so maybe he is better than we think.

That's a cheeky survey.

Not surprised by the players' opinion on Foster. He has never achieved anything as a Head Coach.

Tough to draw any conclusions on that poll when we have no point of comparison.

Is any head AB coach any higher than that?

I doubt Ted's number would have been great post 2011.

That's quite interesting as he had retired by then and had just led NZ to world cup glory the year before.

You mean post-2007? ;)

28% approve? Do the other 26% not know?

LOL. Indeed I do. My view of time condenses when there is a 4 year cycle that I have to erase from memory.

I'm not sure how seriously this poll should be taken, George Bridge is rated the best wing in the country ...

He's the incumbent All Black left winger and has score 9 tries in 9 tests. No-one can question his strike-rate or potency.

Hand on heart AC, do you think he's the best wing in the country? Hell, is he even best at the Crusaders?

What a pointless poll!! So who do they want as AB coach, if you read on 17% which is the highest rate Tony Brown as the best coach! So does that assume that Tony Brown should be coach and then presumably 83% would then not want him. and they rate him ahead of Razor etc?
The only poll that would make sense if they asked 100 pro players who they wanted as AB coach, and if noone got over 50% you would end up the same surely?

I actually quite surprised in one way he got 46%, wouldn't be many political parties that would get that percentage of vote and they get to run the country

No he isn't currently the best 11 in NZ. He's not even the best 11 in the Crusaders squad right now. But that strike rate for the AB's is impressive.

He got 46% that don't rate him. It's not an approval rating.

Yeah, it helps when you get 4 against Tonga in one match.

Tries are tries UncleFB. It's not like other wingers haven't also filled their boots against tier 2 teams. Nine test tries from as many tests is a great record and something George Bridge will no doubt be proud of when he eventually retires from playing Rugby ;)

Didn't Marc Ellis have the most tries in RWC 1995 and 6 of those were in one match against Japan. Ridiculous when Jonah Lomu was clearly the star of the tournament.

Na Ellis was clearly the star, cant you remember all those adverts where he hooked up with Matthew Ridge. Star in the making

I'm sure a survey put together by a loudmouth cunt who has developed a reputation through being Jordie Barrett's drinking buddy has been professionally compiled.

 Whoops, gotta read properly, so it mean 54% do approve, surprised a little more. seem he is obviously well thought of by more than 50% of players.
