$5000 is on it's way.
1. As a Bitcoin noob, where do I start to deposit and buy?
2. Is it easy to sell your Bitcoin?
3. Price now roughly R 4 800, good time to invest?

Fairly interesting documentary on Netflix about bitcoin

So has the attempted regulation made it more valuable?

I'm not informed enough to have a decent discussion about this

Not in South Africa although you should probably declare capital gains on it.

Here's the list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_ ... _territory

State of New York was trying to regulate the bitcoin exchanges.

Basically shut down the early adopters and exchanges as well as jailed some individuals who they said contributed to Silk Road transactions.

Of course, any bank that disbursed cash that is used to buy street drugs is doing the same thing

As the reality of many ICOs dawns and prices collapse claims are coming and given most are probably securities an almighty shitshow is likely. The exchanges are f**ked in this instance. I think that's close to inevitable.

What's more interesting is the impact this has on the protocol coins and especially the two big ones, ether obviously the more exposed here.

Went to buy some a couple of years ago but alas put it off. Quick question, how many of you guys who have bitcoins actually use them? Or like most others are you just speculating. I really like the idea of using it more than the potential gains to be made but isn't the main problem with it that so few people actually trade in it?

Personally i don't see Bitcoin's future as a use for purchasing on a day to day basis, i think Litecoin will likely be for that due to faster transactions.

If people want to get in on some free crypto coins you can sign up with cryptofantasysports.com, they only have soccer and NFL at the moment so no rugby. You'll get 10 NLC2 for free that you can then stake on a fantasy game.

Coins currently around 30 cents each

Indeed. He also seems to be suggesting HMRC need to work out how to charge the stamp duty and that property titles will become a thing of the past. Just weird.

There's four types of people IME

1. Anarchocapitalists/criminals
2. People that think it's a bubble but believe they can pick the peak before it pops
3. People that passionately believe in the technology; and
4. Easily led idiots.

Yes, that's why i put my only crypto 'investment' into ETH.

That being said, all the Banks(usually in JVs) are working on proprietary blockchain technology. When it becomes standard in finance i doubt it will be any one of the current cryptos.
