That's not including the hakas the hotel-staff do after cleaning the Lions player's toilets, as nobody really sees those ones.

I know there was a Powhiri at Waitangi today. There was a big effort by the community to welcome Lions supporters onto the Treaty Grounds.

For those Lions supporters present (the British ones anyway) this would have been quite a moving experience and there would have been a haka for sure so that makes two so far.

Irish people having nothing to do with the the birth of modern New Zealand (too drunk at that time) it begs the question, where were you this time?

They're shocked by the respect that we showed them when they arrived. They were expecting a hate filled journey in armored cars from the airport to the fortified bunker where they were being sheltered. Kids spitting, bottles being thrown, sneak haka attacks. Think something along the lines of black hawk down and you won't be far off the truth.

To be fair to the Kiwis, performing a haka at Waitangi is a little bit different from some drunken oafs doing it outside a backpackers' hostel at 3 a.m.

It looked like a lot of effort went into the whole day, and the Lions boys seemed to appreciate it - impressive stuff

Yes the haka is rather tedious, but they like the silly war dance so let them have it, but its become dull and its only one game in.
I hope the Lions do a Wales and stare down the NZ team after the aka, although we lost that day it felt like we were pissing from a great height
all over their dumb tradition.

I'm not trying to put down actual culturally justified Haka's. They just happen to be part of an overall tally. I love stats. So I'm interested to know. If someone could turn around at the end of the tour and give a number, it might be quite an interesting fact for everyone. Those who like hakas and those who don't. Might be a nice team building exercise for all. Bring us all a little closer together.

They are going to go into full melt down mode when they find there's soap in the Hotel rooms ... foreign concept for them init .... I just feel for the hotel staff having to clean all those bathtubs, those rings are going to be a bitch to remove

when I went to NZ, I had to pay if I wanted to see a haka at these maori experience type things, I don't suppose the Lions are having to fork out each time
