Judging from the British and Irish posters, papers and Gatland they're working themselves into a froth. Any hint of "foul play" from the All Blacks will be talked about for generations. Can't wait for the game.

We'll have substitutions to use this time round. And the AB coaches will take a look at his defensive work today.

Yep.
Ball in hand going forward he is unstoppable. . . The game requires more than this so no game for him

The wet conditions will make the game a lot slower and a lot closer.

Furlong was outscrummaged twice by Crockett ..if theres a change in the front row it will be him

and you want a backrow with no lineout option

brilliant

Ok, but the AB's skill levels are a different league. The forward pack are athletes.

I hope the Lions players can reach the dedication levels of their AB counterparts one day.

Whens the ABs named?
Jordie barrett to start at 15, Alb for crotty, laumape to bench?

Was impressed with how Jordie cleared bodies at rucks for a kid whose frame is supposed to be too lean for test footy

Jordie or the child sized Mackenzie. Hmmm. Think I'd probably drop Barrett back to fullback. Cruden to first five. The ALB thing is a no brainer.

What's the chances we don't get any more 25+ blue sky days this summer? Coming into July and it's high teens and raining. Meanwhile it's mid teens and sunny in Auckland tomorrow in wintertime. UK and Ireland definitely can't bitch about NZ weather.

Summer is over. Longest day has been and gone. It's all down hill from here until that brief week in July next year where everyone pretends England is Med like in its climate.

What? Jordie was outstanding last night. Canes' best player after Laumape.

Jordie showed that DMac should take the French money last night.

I've been here 10 days and endured 2 days of rain in Whakatane and patches here and there while Tiki-touring around the North Island...

I had 3 tickets confirmed when I arrived: I've seen the Chiefs lose, the ABs win and the Canes draw; I've been accommodated by Enzedder and Ted and as of last night, I think I've scored a ticket for the 2nd Test!

um no.

We look for a bit more than Jamie Roberts clones in an All Blacks 12.

He will have to become more evasive, distribute and offload a lot better, and dominate on defence.

Look to November before we see more than is forced by injuries.

[edit] as a 23 perhaps you have an interesting option, but - even though you didn't mention it - I think he is some way from a starting 12. And bench players do need to be able to play as a starter in their covering positions in case of early injuries

I'd take Jordie over Dmac in the 23 jersey based on both's efforts against the Lions in recent weeks.

It was interesting that Jordie spent significant minutes at first-five last night. He's not played 10 before, despite what people assume. I wonder if he was thrust into that role last night because needs must with the Canes having no other options below Otere or that Hansen asked Boyd to give Jordie minutes as a playmaker.

Anyway, he shined. And I reckon he could be the super sub that Beaudie was come the new RWC.

The fact is you can't really compare them on those games. One game had a pack that wasn't competing and a flawed game plan, while the other had a competitive pack with a better game plan (stupid attempts at lineout maul aside).

Jordie had a good game but despite his size his defence is worse than D Mac's, his efforts in the lead up to the Lions first try last night were abysmal. Fans of Jordie claim he has a better test game because of a lower error rate than D Mac, but that's only if you exclude defence (and D Mac has a lot more ball in his hand for the Chiefs then J Barrett does with the Canes to make those errors).

Anyway, it's pretty good that we have both of them coming through even through to compliment Rieko as the young talent in the team.

wing options, Was Julian good last night ? did not see the game, if so, will we see the Savea/Ioane wing pairing? (smith getting a rest, dagg at 15 OR a Naholo/Savea wing pairing with Smith at 15, dagg getting a rest?

I didn't really know who this Dmac was you were all warbling on about. And after the last few Lions matches, Jordie is miles ahead of Dmac and looks like he can get very close to the bruvva's performance in terms of potential.

Taking French money is sad though ... nice for your kids ... but shitty for your soul ...
