Just when you think this place couldn't get any more embarrassing.J Man wrote:What was the difference between the tackles? Both players targeted the head.
One made contact and was obvious the other didn't and wasn't obvious from the first angle and the ref didn't want to take any more notice of the whiney TMO when he desperately tried to get him to have another look. Apart from that both reds and Mako was the more culpable as he had only just given away a penalty against the same player and there was more intent with his.J Man wrote:What was the difference between the tackles? Yep - and I think the TMO was trying to bring that to the ref's attention but the ref was ignoring him.Grizz Wyllie wrote:SBW's was worse, no arguments. That said, there was another replay of Mako's contact that wasn't the flashest.
As they should...that's how it works.Minnosu wrote:One connected with serious force, the other barely made contact. French refs in particular look at the outcome rather than intent.
Stay onside you cheating wit kant.bimboman wrote:Well,if we are discussing filth ruck clear outs with players going off their feet we really need Retalik including for dropping elbows and flying in off feet at almost every ruck.
The ref was more lenient on Mako because it was a ruck and and he used his left arm to grab Barrett.BlueThunder wrote:Mako''s was worse, SBW made a poor decision in the heat of the moment a split second in open play with two players coming at him at 100mph.
Mako dived on a prone player, leading with shoulder/forearm to the head, in a static play nowhere near the ball.

Yep - totally agree. Seems to needlessly hit players as well...the ball is normally either gone ot completely clean.bimboman wrote:Well,if we are discussing filth ruck clear outs with players going off their feet we really need Retalik including for dropping elbows and flying in off feet at almost every ruck.

Not to mention his dive from the "late" hit. I hope he gets smashed next week (legally, of course).Anonymous. wrote:Barrett pretending he was hurt in order to get Mako in trouble was sad to see.
Did you not watch how the NZ second rows were clearing out all game. It was the same FFS.Tehui wrote:Vunipola's looked particularly nasty. The way he dived in on a player lying on the ground with the pointy end of his shoulder, after the ball had already left. You could tell by the glint in his eye that he wanted to seriously hurt somebody. That could have put him in ward 4.

Youre worse than the welsh when englabd win in cardiff. Stinking up the board with your one eyed hilarity.Tehui wrote:Vunipola's looked particularly nasty. although on only one very quick replay it did not look as bead as initially thought.Auckman wrote:Someone could be cited for the swinging arm that took Naholo out of the game.
No issues with either card. Mako could just have easily been a yellow for 2nd penalty for stupid play. Similar to Liam Williams yellow against the Blues.

Both cards were fair.
Sean O'Brien. It's hard to tell whether it was intentional. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.Auckman wrote:Someone could be cited for the swinging arm that took Naholo out of the game.
