That is the exact same as the one Vunipola did. If anything Taylor makes more contact.Banana Man wrote:https://twitter.com/union2525/status/881073226490626048

What the shitting heck has that got to do with anything?Yourmother wrote: Did he cause an injury?
Re: Combined SOB Citing Thread
There is a huge prevalence nowadays for contact with the leading arm down by the body (with contact then made either with the shoulder or upper arm - it needs to be f**king stamped out sharpish

Any word yet? His hearing really should be telecast live on NZ television.
Re: Combined SOB Citing Thread
I believe SOB goes in to dislodge the ball. HE isn't aiming for Naholo's head but Naholo gets driven forward as Sean swings and he hits him. So there's no great intent there at all.
That said, he should get a ban because:
1) you can't sanction only intent, you have to sanction outcome
2) Naholo head moved toward Sean, in my view causing the impact but Sean chose to swing his arm in there and he has to accept that he didn't have to
3) The citing commissioner isn't going to want to be seen as having been wrong in calling it a red card offence and the panel will only overturn him if it's a complete cockup by him, which this isn't.
What's good for the goose is good for the Tank. Harsh but fair.

Rules were changed afterwards...only 1 of the Kiwi 'tackles' in that game should have been a red by the rules at the time (Fekitoa).RWC2015 wrote:I can see both sides. So:
- consistency with recent decisions, budy muchanics, hud clash etc: 0 weeks
- consistency with player welfare and long-term player health, good of the game: 2 weeks
The kiwis clearly went out to identify a potential issue with player safety by trying to decapitate a player every time they could. And they succeeded in getting the rules changed.

Don't think it matters what he did after - it's a fair complaint that Taylor wasn't penalised for a late shoulder charge. But refs miss stuff, such is life. He was aggravatingly consistent so I can forgive him this one bit of inconsistency.Hareaway wrote:Diego wrote:That is the exact same as the one Vunipola did. I wonder if he's doing his posh voice again in the hearing, like he did in the interview after the game yesterday.
Re: Combined SOB Citing Thread
It will run one way or other. Serious potential to even bring the French in if the time gets bumped up because of SOB's prior ban for Pape.Hareaway wrote:I think he deserves a serious frown and sent on his way

Re: Combined SOB Citing Thread
I don't think the directive could really be considered a rule change. More of a clarification of a rule, which wasn't in fact a clarification if you read it:shabadoo wrote:Rules were changed afterwards...only 1 of the Kiwi 'tackles' in that game should have been a red by the rules at the time (Fekitoa).RWC2015 wrote:I can see both sides. clear as mudReckless Tackle
A player is deemed to have made reckless contact during a tackle or attempted tackle or during other phases of the game if in making contact, the player knew or should have known that there was a risk of making contact with the head of an opponent, but did so anyway. This sanction applies even if the tackle starts below the line of the shoulders. This type of contact also applies to grabbing and rolling/ twisting around the head/ neck area even if the contact starts below the line of the shoulders.
Minimum sanction: Yellow card
Maximum sanction: Red card

there are patches where he falls off it, but I reckon he's definitely going for his telephone voice in most of that. also in the one with Sky's interviewer.YOYO wrote:This is just his regular Carlow accent and Carlow ain't posh.armchair pundit wrote:I wonder if he's doing his posh voice again in the hearing, like he did in the interview after the game yesterday.

How odd that a comment regarding one AB players actions receive that response.
