Every Poite performance is absurd. This time it suits the team I support but so often he has f*cked over Leinster and Ireland.

He had a good game tonight. Although i thought the scrum penalty to the abs was absurd. Probably his worst call for the evening.

I thought he was good and the All Blacks only have themselves to blame. I tend to agree with the last way they ruled the offside but I would've thought he could've shown the same common sense as Crocket was pinned under itoje and Webb passed the ball into him. My other question is whether the ref is allowed to check a knock on with the tmo. There was a reason Joubert couldn't change his call. Lions player knew as he dropped it straight away. We probably would've missed the kick anyway.

Only because O'wens is so biased that you perceive Poite to be absurd. Ahh Lions series over normal hostilities can resume.

I also thought he had a good game

Shame about the controversy, which I hope won't overshadow what was a very even and entertaining series.

He did very well.

Two great teams, thought kiwis were slightly better, but they failed to get it done.

He just lets shit go but was consistent for both teams.

Anyone whinging about him costing their team the match needs a slap in the face.

Haha from the biggest whinger on here that's a little rich. You'd be dead silent after a ref changed a Mach winning penalty a call by using the tmo to check a knock on...right? We blew it for sure but that was a howler.

I thought he was alright. Last call for accidental offside was a weird one. Right outcome though, I always thought a penalty in that scenario was bullshit.

No complaints, pretty solid effort from the frog, he seemed fair.

It might be the first time I've ever thought that of him I think. Most times I'm thinking Wtf!?!.

He didn't cost the AB's the game, the 4 or 5 blown tries did, but he literally refused to apply the laws at the end cause he didn't want to decide the result. That's just shit refffing.

I thought he let himself get talked into some decisions.

And it puts paid to the old adage that you never see a ref change his mind.

He tends to make strange calls in general but he somehow seems to even it out in the end.
I wouldn't say he was good today but he was fair.

In the heat of the moment sure, but reviewing it (possibly illegally?) and then changing his mind was shite.

Nah, he was consistent with his inconsistency.

thought the Lions got hard done by on some crucial penalties, especially Warburton in the first 10 mins and Sinckler near the end.

Yeah, we never got any momentum. The beginning of the second half was particularly painful for memory.

God yes, there was that one period of about 5 minutes where the AB's couldn't even get to 2nd phase.

I don't remember a ref looking more out of his depth, confused and lacking confidence since Graeme Poll in the Socceroos vs Croatia game at the 2006 world cup.

The amount of time it took him to figure out how to blow full-time made me start to wonder if he might be suffering early onset dementia.

The old saying that there is no point questioning a ref after he has has blown his whistle has obviously been well and truly Poited. I would be surprised if he doesn't get stood down after that for a few games.
