Re: Post a picture of yourself playing rugby
To be honest one of the (many) reasons for me hanging up my boots was looking at the state of the Vets players after a game. I played a friendly against Chiswick vets in my last season, complete mismatch, but they were a good set of lads and I was chatting to my opposite number who I reckon was early 50s and he was in absolute tatters in the bar afterwards and watching him shuffle and limp about carrying a pint with arthritic fingers just made me thinnk 'I don't want to be like you'.

First game of season at Eastwood against and with an assortment of teams - good first game of the year.

Re: Post a picture of yourself playing rugby
Id hope so. Having a senior club that only plays Golden Oldies but plays like 1st year seniors trying to smash old men was a little hard to comprehend and not in the social spirit of Golden Oldies. Which was why I didn't enjoy it.kiwigreg369 wrote:Demilich ... but it has a lot to give...jolindien wrote:

The muted type of play that is, rugby is hard to play socially. Plus it was too like league with the line outs and scrums not contested.

It's exactly like league - but unlimited tackles. Essentially if you don't cock up the opposition can't win the ball.

It’s difficult to overstate exactly how quickly I am moving at this point. If I had been on a treadmill, I would definitely have taken off.

Club 60 year anniversary - hopefully picture doesn't destroy.
Two great events:
- one of the old boys came wearing his t'shirt making the 10th anniversary
- he did an upside down skull to start the boat race
(Note - the bar is named after him already)
