New Queensland Reds Coach

Post by Killer Rabbit »

Big Brad. Former All Black, Queensland State of Origin, and Crusader.

Possibly the hardest man in the history of the world.

Oh good - another coach with training wheels. :uhoh:

Without in any way diminishing his playing credentials, on what basis does he deserve a Supe coaching gig?

He was part of the Henry/Hansen era so hopefully he can bring some of their knowledge.

Someone in an earlier thread mentioned good work done with the Reds dev side and the Country team, so hopefully he's on the right track. While it smacks of a 'celebrity' appointment akin to Kafer running the coaching development program with practically zero coaching potential, Thorn has at least been part of the wider group.

He's such a hero I'd hate to see him taking it in the neck from fans if it goes sour.

Ah, the old cross-the-fingers-and-hope-really-hard strategy.

Stiles was incredibly successful with Brisbane City winning back to back titles...

Stiles' main problem was his inexperienced support coaches, like Brad Thorn.

Fortunately Brad Thorn won't face these issues, with his removal from the assistant's role.

Is Mooney confirmed as back? Hope so. Totality Tony should be a decent too.

Fear not. I think Totality should have this covered off.
I’ll run the whole training programme while the national side is in Test-match mode from June to December and also run the programme and the players back in their provinces from January through to June.

So I’ll be dealing with the totality of the strength and conditioning, the medical, the rugby side of things, strategy, the review, preview of the game itself and also the individuals.
