Potentially Damien McKenzie through similar logic.

Martín Castrogiovanni.

(Sergio Parisse would be another suitable answer but his is a particular case since he always considered himself an Argentine-born Italian expat and declared for Italy early on, while still playing age-group rugby)

If we're using that logic then any of Futzy, the Brooke bros, Nonu, Kelleher, Horan, Moore, Dayglo, etc. Pointless to consider thoses who qualify by ancestry.

What position did Wally play in rugby - midfield right? From my reading of that famous schoolboys tour he didn't make the top team that often in a backline featuring the Ellas, O'Connor and Melrose. So, potentially he probably was but maybe his talents were better suited to league?
Totally owned by Olsen Filipainia as well and was a right dick about it.

Isa getting fúcked over by Fiji (or whatever happened) was one of the best things to ever happen to a European domestic side. Funny how these things work out really.

It wasn't really Fiji's fault, he just made an impulsive move as a 20 year that he later regretted. But yeah, for a club to get a youngish test quality player with no desire to play for the only team he was eligible for was a lucky break.

Given the number of games played today and the numbers of subs used, you'd think it is most likely to be a player from the era when the same 15 started and finished a game unless one actually died on the pitch.

Everyone I can think of from that era seemed to managed to get one or two caps however.

He's slowing down a bit now but he's certainly up there as one of if not the best foreign player ever signed by Leinster. He's currently the club captain as well.

Out of players I've seen probably John Leslie or Josh Blackie (although might've been capped for the A team?)

Neil Sorensen, Wellington halfback in the 80s and All Black trialist. Should have been the AB halfback ahead of Bruce Deans from 87 to 90. A magnificent pass.

They changed designated team. When he got the cap it wasn't disqualifying IIRC.

Fiji against Scotland in the 2003 RWC not qualifying?

Let me out of the Dunnes knocknacarra carpark at 5 on a weekday. People have been beatified for less.

Also a lot of professional rugby players are arseholes. Doesn't mean Musch hasn't been fcuked over by Joe because of his size. He has a ridiculous tank on him too considering how props out West get injured daily.

Martin Offiah would have to be in the frame I would have thought. Played for England students in 1987 and of course represented England at Rugby league but alas never received his England cap at test level in the 15 man code.

His teammate Shaun Edwards captained both the RL and RU England schoolboys and, on the whole, was a better player. He didn't play that much union growing up so that captaining the national side was an achieving in itself, especially in positions as technical as the halves.

Former Canterbury and Crusaders openside flanker Angus Gardiner.

Martin Leslie was a similar vintage and was an equally good player, although he obviously had a decent test career for Scotland.

Interesting, this thread is truning into a "best player never poached by your nation" thread. I wasn't expecting that.

You anglos (helped by some argies... shame on them, but hey, SH and 4N now) are all the same, bar a very few regional differences. All your players (sons, fathers, grandpas, cousins etc) could play for whatever anglos nation it seems. A world of inbreeding.

What a joke.
And then, comes the 6N, 4N, RWC etc, you lot raise your so-called flag and wave it on your dick... while your cousin is playing for the opposite side  .

Such a luck to be french, at least we have some dignity.

Patricio "Colorado" Fuselli.

He played flyhalf alongside with Pichot.

When Pichot left Argentina and his club (CASI) the Colorado (=ginger) was lost.

One of the most (if not the most) talented player I've ever seen, totally lost by the night.

On this pic the ginger on the right.

I clearly remember when Castro arrived from Paraná and the fights on the first division when he displaced some born and raised in the CASI.

Eventhough he was what I call a "paquete" he was never that good, in fact he was an average prop in my humble opinion.
