My wifes gift to me is a pass to go to the HK 7s
My gift to myself is to book flights and a hotel today
My gift to my wife is 4 days freedom from me in April.

Aside from three phone calls (including my well-sauced mum at 8.30pm), I had peace and quiet from the outside world.

And some run-of-the-mill presents. Although, seeing as I don't have any hobbies, I don't exactly make it easy for my family to buy for me.

My brother and sister did top notch on the gift giving this year, aided to them talking to my mother and not just guessing. I got a nice robusto cigar and five small machine produced ones from my brother (along with the obligatory cheap beer, which will very much be guzzled.) My sister got me a small teapot tea infuser which'll be great, and a book of recipes that are all cooked in one big pot, which'll fit in very nicely with the chili and stew I make.

Better than getting those presents (which were great) my brother actually jumped up and down when he opened the Sega Mini I got him (the Megadrive being the first console we had.) And it might have been a little put on at first, but as it dawned on him what the megadrive actually was I think he was really pleased.

I'm proud that so many people dubbed in for my Christmas present.

Very thoughtful.

Rightio, Ron Swanson.

You are the current holder of the Gamblor Cup. What more could a man want?

Mrs jdogscoop and I have a $100 gift limit, because we recognise we can just buy ourselves what we want.

I received cologne, a sixer of craft ale, and some quality confectionary.

Nice, Gary!

Last time I was there over Christmas, I actually went to Bethlehem. First white Christmas I experienced in my life. Bethlehem was pretty shit as a gig, to many religious types for my liking.

This year it coincides with Hanukkah so it's more festive than usual.

I was in Jerusalem for Christmas some years ago and it was fairly busy with Christians heading for Bethlehem. There's sometimes a certain amount of trouble there between rival gangs of orthodox priests (I am not making this up)

And I got a Magimix for Christmas.

I went home for Xmas week so didn't really see it but work etc all continued as normal. Temperatures are high teens or low 20s so not bad.

Bethlehem and Jerusalem can be a hell of a lot colder than the high teens. Eilat is low 20s, but Tel Aviv can be mid teens or lower.
