Yep. His party has simply said "give up the presidency".

Now he can either step down voluntarily by resigning, or parliament can vote him out. The latter would be disastrous though for the ANC because it will mean they have to vote with the opposition. It will in fact be quite a big victory for the opposition parties.

So incredibly, Zuma still has an ace up his leave. (Not that Ace)

If they vote him out (in Parliament) he will have the moral authority to walk out of teh ANC and start a new party. He will rip the ANC in two, and partes like the EFF and DA will also be ripped, in turn ..
Expect a large contingent of current ANC MPs to follow if that happens (Ace too).

Maybe so many will not vote against him, or even for him, that the motion will not pass. And the ANC will be ripped, Parliament will be ripped, and they will elect Nkosasana D-Z as Pres. The JZ will not have to move, at all ...

This fight is not over yet. Ols shit is pressing on - I told ya so !!!

BN needs the attention. Traumatised children will do ANYTHING to get the attention of their elders. Rebellion is the most efficient way.

EDIT : One must humour them mostly, or they will damage themselves.

Maimane reckons it is a lot of hot air.

"The fact is, Zuma remains President, and remains in power, and as long as this is the case, our country suffers," said Maimane. "The DA notes the decision by the ANC’s NEC to recall Zuma. This recall is an internal ANC resolution, and nothing more."

"[The recall] has no effect on Zuma’s current status as President of the Republic, and can be simply ignored by Zuma. Unless he tenders his resignation, this recall is not worth the paper it is printed on."

Maimane said the only way to remove Zuma as President is for Parliament to do so through a motion of no confidence. "It is Parliament that elects and removes a president, not the ANC. Therefore, the EFF’s motion of no confidence, provisionally scheduled for February 22, must be treated as a priority and brought forward to within this week in order for Parliament to remove Zuma.

"Following that," said Maimane, "the National Assembly must dissolve Parliament in terms of Section 50 of the Constitution. Anyone who wants to be the next president of this country must have the mandate of the people, and this can only be established through an early election. The people must elect the new South African President, not a few connected cadres within the ANC."

No. Nyaope. The stuff that they ordinarily smoked. Mixed with dagga, sometimes, when smoked.
Make a diffusion and inject it. A mixture of heroin, acid, all kinds of shit. Cheapie drug.

If he had zero support, it wouldn't have taken the NEC 13 hours to decide to recall him. Listen to the press interview: Ace actually said there were members who didn't want him out. Remember is not only JZ - there's a whole faction within the ANC that is in his camp. And he still has a massive supporter base under the rural voters, especially in KZN.

Read the thread, especially Beaver's post. He is not gone yet; he needs to resign. Which he can just refuse to do (and already has a couple of times over this last week).

I just watched a very interesting analysis on News24. The political commentator said that even if a motion of no confidence in him is passed through parliament, he needs to resign, I.e such a motion will not automatically remove him either. It will however create a constitutional nightmare..... and we all know how faithful he is towards the constitution.

Of course he might just resign tomorrow and that's the end. But there are still ways it could go wrong.

He will have his day in Court tough, I agree. If the PP goes ahead with the charges.

I feel it's the same thing with Trump. He's not really a member of his party as far as their beliefs, but it's a lot easier to hijack and take control of it, and once that's complete, that apparatus is all required to support you. People that don't like you are then emotionally conflicted on leaving the party because they'd be joining the opposition, which feeds into the narrative New Supreme Leader wants to spread on those kinds of people. It's worse in South Africa because if you control the ANC, you control the country. The opposition are all fractured, impossible to unite, and are not setup to have power nationally. So why would Zuma form his own party and voluntarily make himself weaker if you accept his sole goal is power/enrichment and protection of himself?

Could someone PLEASE explain what 'Cobus' thing is? I've seen it a couple of times now, once directed at one of my posts, but I guess it's a boredism that came into being when I want as active on here (last 3-4 months of 2017).

Is it supposed to be a Saffa version of the Irish 's "craic"?

If so, I think it's freakin' stupid. Considering that is supposed to be spelled as "crack" in normal English, a better word would be "kraak" or a derivative thereof.
