Do we have 11 blokes on the field or 2?

Great catch by de Grandhomme!

There's been some quality ground fielding in this series. Unfortunately, our catching has let us down at important times.

Wow how in the fudge did Nicholls drop that? My dead grandmother could have caught that. Our catching has gone to shite big time.

I think it's our biggest problem. It's one of several, but it's our most pressing.

I don't mind losing as England is a quality side and deserved winners but the tame way we rolled over didn't do the series justice or England as victors harder challenge to overcome would have been more satisfying. Doubt many of their supporters will watch the match when they get up bit of an anticlimax.

Well played England. The truth is if we didn't have Taylor, England would have walked this series. Thanks for showing where we need to improve...almost everywhere. Also shows how bad Pakistan and the Windies were.

Well done England. A disappointing end to the series from a Black Caps perspective but they were completely outplayed and you can't begrudge that skill.

Was a strange series

NZ were on target for an easy win before the freakish run out of santner then NZ wouldve been 3-1 up going into the last game and series won

But then 2/3 games we lost we were hammered- English deserved to win because our batting wasn’t up to scratch and your death bowling is better

We've had some good series v NZ - and they are invariably played in a great spirit.

All went a bit pear shaped for NZ today - but it was a very competitive series. NZ, perhaps, a bit too reliant on a handful of players that always need to be at their best. Munro was very disappointing and Chapman had a terrible start to his international career. Guptil not quite at his dominant best.

Taylor was superb, as was Williamson. Santner had a brilliant series with the bat - they could bat him one or two place higher - he seems to be a much smarter player than DeGrandhomme.

Test series will be interesting.

It's pretty much always been the case though. Hadlee/Crowe, Taylor/Williamson, Bond/Flem sort of. It's very rare our entire top order fires and bowlers clean up as a unit.

I honestly believe we set up our players for failure. This Chapman kid has been fairly prolific for Hong Kong and domestically and throw him in to the wolves. I would play him around 5/6 and let him work is way into international cricket. Now he's most likely going to be dropped. Score some runs, come back in and fail. Same shit, different day. Colin Munro should be tossed for a while. Or dropped down the order until he finds his mojo.
We really need some tall plum to come in and hit the deck back of a length. Theyre all very much the same at the minute. Tallish, medium swing bowlers and of there's no movement, it's a long day.

New Zealand Test squad for England: Kane Williamson (c), Todd Astle, Trent Boult, Colin de Grandhomme, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Henry Nicholls, Jeet Raval, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, Neil Wagner, BJ Watling (wk)

Santa is having knee surgery and will be out for 6-9 months.

Someone at work was claiming England are now on 5 series winning streak in 50 over games. Had the vague notion they somehow dropped a series to WI ???

Astle is seen as the better option as he strengthens the batting. Which isn't that strong.

I find that ridiculous and negative from hesson etc

We need to take 20 wickets to win the match - not worry about whether the no. 8 batsman can score -that’s the job for our specialist batsman, anyway sodhi is no mug with the bat

Astle is hardly going to win us a game, sodhi has more potential - gladly proved wrong but I can’t see it
