Good to see Daugunu to start on the wing, Wright starting at 7, and CFS in his natural position of 13. I imagine that the SK at 12 thing is to counter the 'physical' Bulls' style (hopefully he will cause a train wreck or two amongst their defence), and the NZ presence on this thread is in support of their referee, Nutbrown.

Most of this team were born in such exotic Ozzie places as New Zealand, Papa-New-Guinea, Fiji and Tonga.
Cosmopolitan Australia.
Whether folk were locally-born has long been a vexed question.

Here is the definitive breakdown.

1. James Slipper (C) – Bond University Straya
2. Brandon Paenga-Amosa - Sunnybank NZ
3. Taniela Tupou - Brothers Tonga
4. Izack Rodda - Easts Straya
5. Kane Douglas - Norths Straya

20. Angus Scott-Young – University of Queensland Straya
21. Tate McDermott – University of Queensland Straya
22. Hamish Stewart – Bond University Straya
23. Duncan Paia’aua - Norths NZ

In summary: overseas-born the majority (13 of 23) with NZ the biggest contributor (six, five of whom were born in Auckland).
When you add in the NZ born coach you can understand why they are our favourite Aussie team.
I'd simply put this down to your innate good taste and astute judgement.

I would have kept the same 10 / 12 combination.

Reds by 3
I think this is a stronger team than against the Lions. Gelant still working his way to full fitness but in general, stronger team.

Thongan Thor just signed on for another 2 years. Must like what’s going on at the Reds. Suspect his next contract will be Folau-sized to keep the Northerners away.

Former Force/Brumby and Qld Under 18 player Ruan Smith also signing on to bolster the Reds propping stocks, joining his twin brother the Toowoomba Grammar-educated Jean-Pierre.

It's what the Reds do.

Still, they get to pick up a paycheck.

I think this is Jono’s big chance to prove he can control a game from the 10 possy in a ‘winning team’.

We know he’s a great athlete but this game is going to be about turning the Bulls around and playing down the other end.

Let’s see how he goes.

This Reds team is big. They're going to try and belt the Saffas off the park, a challenge they will relish. Might not be shampain rugby but will be a stonka I reckon.
