Historically the Sharks seem to play better against Kiwi teams. We've been in similar positions in the past, when we've had a run of bad games, and then come our firing against a much stronger team. Let's hope this happens, because quite frankly we can't get much worse.

The starting XV needs a shake up. Drop RdP and Schreuder for a start.

Boet, have some sympathy for the Bulls. We have to play the Championship contending Stormers on Saturday.

Definitely....And strangely Jacques Vermeulen is a shadow of last year too.....

However this side is not playing as a team....Story is that they are not in a good place mentally.

But the good news is that the Sharks are the greatest internet side in Africa.....

WOOOO FU CKING HOOOOOO.

He probably won’t even get the ball.

The Blues are ragged up front and should be an easy nut to crack. Whether this Sharks side are good enough to do it is another story, but the Sharks have a long history of rocking up to Auckland and coming away with points comfortably

I suppose you agree with me then? Dominating the blues up front will prevent him running riot ball in hand?

Dominating anyone up front prevents that. Just genuinely didn’t know which bro you were referring to, as the form Ioane this season so far is easily Akira

The Blues face their third South African team in as many weeks, this time back on their hallowed home turf at Eden Park against the Sharks on Easter Saturday.

There have been some changes with players lost to injury and others coming back to the squad from Injury.

In the backs, the loss of Sonny Bill Williams means that in-form Rieko Ioane moves in to second five to form a formidable partnership with fellow All Black George Moala.

Inside that is a new starting partnership with the elusive Jonathan Ruru given his chance to start alongside Stephen Perofeta, who has impressed in his two games off the bench since recovering from injury.

All Blacks Ofa Tuungafasi and Matt Duffie have been given one of their two mandated rest games which allows a first Super start for Jordan Trainor on the right wing and popular North Harbour prop Mike Tamoaieta.

Northland’s Josh Goodhue, another who has recovered from injury and impressed in Development games, has his second game for the Blues at lock for the injured Scott Scrafton.

Coach Umaga said the side is determined to get their season back on track at home.

“We’ve trained well but we can’t give our opponents the sorts of starts we have given this season. We are looking to be a lot more accurate, to protect our own ball much better, get a good platform upfront and be more accurate in defence.

“We had one good game in South Africa but then let ourselves down. At this level of competition, we need to perform for 80 minutes and look to improve with every outing.

“Injuries have cost us some players but we have others coming back. We have some players who have been working really hard in training and for the Development team that have put their hands up and deserve an opportunity.

“We are looking forward to getting back on home territory at Eden Park and keen to produce a strong performance for our fans.

Trainor ??? Is this a misprint? If the Blues lose this game that should be the end of Tana and Rogers. Reiko at 12...that's just what a 21-year-old needs for his development: be the team's battering ram. Moala at 12 and Reiko at 13 makes more sense.

Sorry about the lack of interest lads. Sharks are dismal this Year. Blues will get a much needed win after a very long wait.

If I were the twins I would be looking abroad for a contract

Great to see him back, we need a workhorse.

But the rest of the team x(

How can they persist with Robert du Preez at 10 after a series of awful games?

I somewhat agree but Moala isn't a playmaker. The ball usually dies with him. Still, this is a pretty odd pick for a guy who would start on the wing for any team in the world but is being experimented at 12 because...fuck it why not give it a shot? Unless squad depth is really that bad that this is the only logical choice.

At least Perofeta is starting at 10.

Tamoaieta is a penalty magnet. Parsons, Manu, and Tuipulotu are experienced but really need to impose themselves on a match more. Especially Mr All Black Tuipulotu. His locking partner seems to be a revolving door this year. This time it is Josh Goodhue's turn.

Incidentally, the past couple of games there always seems to be a try given away by SBW's sloppy hands so not having him there is an improvement. Rieko at 12 is Umaga's "fuckit" move.

Agree re Tuipulotu, he's been too quiet this year.

Rieko at 12 seems to be Tana taking a page out of Blackadder's 'playing the backs out of position' playbook. Looking forward to seeing how Perofeta goes on the wing next week. :(
