I see them semi-regularly on the way to the office, and at least one in the car park daily.

Flew into/out of Schiphol recently and all the airport taxis seemed to be Teslas.

Must be popular down there. I see lots of luxury cars around here (Porsche, Maserati, Aston Martin etc) but probably only 1-2 Teslas a week.

Tesla is going through another funding round, it's shades are almost certainly overvalued, and there's some hedge fund managers with enormous short positions who are desperately trying to talk Tesla down

It's not going bust

Also once they sell 200k or something in total sales the federal tax credit given to buyers goes away

Late on Tuesday, Moody’s Investors Service downgraded Tesla’s credit rating to B3 from B2, citing “the significant shortfall in the production rate of the company’s Model 3 electric vehicle.” It also noted “liquidity pressures due to its large negative free cash flow and the pending maturities of convertible bonds.”

The hedge fund is not even that large

Not like Pershing Capital and their $1B short position on Herbalife

When will it make a profit ?

Musk has already thrown in much of the empire with the cars (battery stuff has much more long term value) , the car stuff will be bought out at some point , at what value that is God only knows.

Fair few Model S around in the village here. More Teslas than Mazzers, Porsches and F Types, which I take to be a good sign.

Of course, you don't see any Model X around, because every single one appears to have spent 90% of its time in recall. Absolute waste of space vehicles with nothing properly tested.

Two owners I know (and the only two I've heard with them) haven't had their actual car they bought for more than a week at a time in the last 6 months... They get plenty of different coloured variants to play with, mind. Until they break down, too.

A family member has the Model X.

Seriously impressive when you actually sit in one. The acceleration is nuts.

I may be a dolt but there was a fatal crash in California on Friday that is specifically referred to on Bloomberg as one of the reasons for the drop in the share price

The Space X stuff is hardly the work of a charlatan ?

I am deeply suspicious of the financial model behind the car company though.

Nah any fat tourists can set up a company that launches shit into space, resuses its rockets, etc.

The same crash is being blamed for the plummet of nvidias stock price too; which is even more idiotic.

In summary, stock brokers are idiots who don't understand tech.
