Sounds nasty
Saints have issued an update on Rob Horne, stating that the Australian centre sustained an arm injury during the win against Leicester Tigers at Welford Road on Saturday.
Horne was forced off after just 12 seconds of the east midlands derby, having sustained concussion in a collision with Sione Kalamafoni after chasing a Saints kick-off.

He was named captain for the day, but was soon stretchered off after undergoing lengthy treatment on the field.

Horne was taken straight to Leicester Royal Infirmary and remains at the hospital, receiving specialist care for the arm problem.

Saints' update, which was sent out on Sunday evening, read: "Rob Horne remains in hospital this evening having suffered an arm injury during Northampton Saints’ victory at Welford Road yesterday.

"The 28-year old Australian is receiving specialist treatment to his right arm and will continue to be assessed to determine the extent of his injury.

"He wishes to send his thanks to everyone at Leicester Royal Infirmary and for the messages of support he and his family have received."

Doesn't Scotland have a Rob Horne also or is Peter?

Sad to hear. He's looked good in the AP. Always plays hard in that Pat Mccabe style, a good everyman centre, solid at most things without being particularly amazing at anything.

Just posted on the England thread having seen the clip, he was talking early- I think it was an epic stinger more than concussion and he probably couldn’t move. Looked like he hit straight in the brachial plexus x(

Sounds similar to the Simon Dwyer injury. Looked like a bad concussion, then appeared to be some sort of shoulder injury. Ended up being a brachial plexus injury and he never played again. 7 years later and his arm is withered and basically unusable for anything.

That's a bit unfair on Horne, he didn't have one good season preceded by a whole bunch of seasons running in a straight line slowly until being tackled.

Can see you're trolling by being unfair to McCabe. He was used pooly for a couple of seasons and was back to excellent form for a season before his injury. In any event, I was complimenting him by comparing his fearless style.

Nope, I was always excited to see him in the Wallabies playing the ABs, he was one of the most average rugby players I've ever seen make it to international level - he was so ponderous and slow. Then he turned good for a season (playing quite a bit on the wing IIRC) before getting injured out of the game.

He went good, out of position, good, injured.

In any event, nobody can doubt his effort.

I thought he was decent, but Aus were killing him by running him on the crash all the time.

We’ve Pete Horne, who’s an Inside Centre capable of doing a shift at Fly Half and his younger brother George who’s a Scrum Half and the next bright thing in Scottish Rugby.
