Crotty and Reiko Ioane both out for the All Blacks. Will be interesting to see who Hansen brings in to replace these players. I suspect he'll start ALB at 12 since that combination worked well yesterday. As for Reiko's replacement, we don't have another left winger in the squad. Can Naholo switch sides?

He did so for the entire second half, and utterly dominated.

They will either go for Naholo/Bender/Jordie or Naholo/NMS/Bender.

No need to be like that Shanky. That was an excellent first half by the Wallabies last night, and last year you were the better team across the 2nd and 3rd Bledisloe tests. With Crotty and Ioane out, dare I say it but the Wallabies should be favourites for this match?

Yeah now that you mention it he did swap last night. The bleating from Kearns about his 'offside' try was the result of poor camera coverage of the All Blacks left edge.

That's where he worked his magic today. Logical would be put him there, bring Jordie back in and Bender to 14. Other option is leave Bender and bring in NMS at 14, he looked quite sharp in Manawatu's win over the Mooloos. Or Dmac at 15. Plenty of options but you're right about not having another left winger in the squad.

Shag said they'll be deciding this week who will start out of Lumpy and ALB, so nothing clear cut there.

Naholo can play on both wings and cover centre :/

9. A.smith
10. B.Barrett
11. Naholo
12. ALB
13. Goodhue
14. B. Smith
15. J.Barrett

not sure with 15 cause good chance of hansen starting DMAC at 15 as he has more expereeince internationally with Luamape and Jordie on the bench..

My preferred backline for Eden Park;

9. Aaron Smith
10. Beauden Barrett
11. Waisake Naholo
12. Anton Lienert-Brown
13. Jack Goodhue
14. Nehe Milner-Skudder
15. Ben Smith

No one is playing out of position (You could argue Naholo is but he was so good last night) and there is no compromise trying to shoehorn in players and shifting others around.

As far as the reserves go, I'd like to see something like this;

21. TJ Perenara
22. Richie Mo'unga
23. Damian McKenzie

A risk not carrying any midfield cover but Bender can cover if need be. Eden Park would be an opportune time to give Mo'unga a run at first five, especially if the All Blacks are looking comfortable. Playing at our fortress against a top tier foe would be a great experience for the young man.

Naholo has played his best rugby for the ABs on the left.

i think NMS has been dropped for a few weeks to get his fitness back, we may not see him back until nz play argentina, that said, Jordie will be in the 23 no matter what as he was dropped last week only because hansen wanted a legit bench cover for centre incase goodhue didn't do well or crotty got crocked...crotty's crockiness means Jordie will be on the bench (atleast), another option they can do is to play Laumape on the right wing (wise at 11), ala SBW when he first played for the AB'S, he is apparently 5'7 so he will be up against 5'11 koroibete, he is no vince aso but if he can play like that on the wing, he can be a good bench option for future games to cover centre/wing as ALB is the current bench cover for centre.

Not seen enough from Skudder to suggest his is anywhere near back to his best.
He looks to be a few yards slower than before his injury.
Still a really good footballer, but other than Naholo, not a lot of gas in that Backline.

Would love to see Alaimalo given a chance on the right wing, almost certainly not going to happen, but failig that Jodie to fullback even though it means moving Smith.

I know it is. And it won't happen. But I just want to see Mo'unga given a crack at top tier opposition. He may get a run against Argentina in the RC and will probably get time against Japan and Italy but he's in great form and I think that can translate to the International arena.

i ignored alaimalo and bridge cause they are not named in the 33 but if there is a long term injury in the backs, hansen could bring someone on, shame seta is going, he was perfect as a replacement, as a wing/centre cover for crotty, he would have been first choice..that said, if hansen changes his mind and brings in other players, i'd like to see Bridge at 11....alaimalo was a bit out of it for the makos on friday but since the game is in eden park, may not be a bad idea to callup melani nanai, he has always been there knocking on the big black door..

I think Richie would probably have done a better job unlocking the rush defense TBH. His (and the Crusaders as a whole) handling in traffic, and ability to find runners has been superb.

Bodie's overall game was pretty average.
Some very good things, excellent try couply of breaks.
On the downside a couple of terrible kicks from hand, an ordinary night goal kicking, and an intercept pass with a try looming, and a LOT of running across field before passing.

It wasn't ordinary goal kicking - it was very poor.

We are not winning three RWC knockout games with Barrett kicking.

He's a below average goal-kicker, and people are kidding themselves if they think otherwise.

Jordie needs to sort his shit out, get back in the team, and kick the damn goals!

Match has lost a bit of lustre after last nights game. Wallabies put in a good effort but weren't competive in the scrums and lineouts, and I cannot see that changing at Eden Park of all places.

Really wish Australia would get a decent tight five at some point. The rest of their team is quality, but the tight five shits the bed and has done for a decade.

To be fair to them, they are missing Sio, and Thor. They are both quality props and top scrummagers. Massive losses - impossible to replace. Ainsley isn't close to test standard right now.

I have no idea why Rory Arnold isn't in the 23 either. Needs to play for the Tahs, I guess...

The nitpicking over BB is getting quite excessive. He played well, though kicked poorly from the tee.

Winning with an ordinary goal kicker. I.e. winning the RWC with BB kicking.

What do Australia do with Folau out? Beale could drop back but then you lose his spark in the midfield.

15. DHP (his preferred position honestly)
14. Maddocks
13. Hodge (meh, he was shit as i predicted but still he is there because he can kick long range goals)
12. Beale
11. Marika
10. Toomua
9. Genia

21. Conroy
22. Foley
23. Naivalu/Meakes (too early for banks or petaia and rona isn't interested)

Start Banks at fullback (or wing, with DHP at the back), keep Maddocks on the bench...

i like banks but will chieka risk that?, he has 2 strong decisions to make this week in regards to backs, one is dumping Foley to the bench as he was pretty much a no-show, the other ofcourse, folau's replacement as chieka has always had folau there and even when folau had a short break, he had the option of DHP but becoz DHP was also a no-show yesterday, will he risk it? maddocks had a good debut, but it was off the bench, maybe banks can have his debut off the bench an sicne he can cover wing/fullback, could be a useful bench option...whatever happens, its likely maddocks will start ..had he not scored a try yesterday, we may have seen a KB to 15 shuffle with toomua to 12..
