It’s official

Sir Richard Hadlee's 9 for 52 vs Australia in Brisbane has been rated as the best Test bowling performance of all time .. using a CPI type model by a neutral staffer at Cricinfo.com

It should not be forgotten that he caught the one wicket he did not capture with the ball, thus denying himself the chance of taking all ten. A true sportsman and gentleman.

What’s was even more remarkable was Hadlee then came out to bat and smacked McDermott and Lawson for a quick 54 runs and a timely NZ declaration .. and then he rumbled the Ockers again taking 6/71 and 15 wickets in the match. That’s a total of 41 CPI points in the test match the biggest haul by any player in a single test. 2nd is Lara who got 40 CPI points for his epic 400 not out vs England.
