Amazing game. You earned that result and I hope that people concentrate on that fact, rather than zero in on the AB mistakes.

A great result for a mighty AB foe.

The thing is the All Blacks didn't play that bad. A few errors but nothing to take away from the Boks performance in defence and taking their chances.

That was a really really good test.

Phenomenal game, exposed too many frailties in the ABs.
Boks should be very proud of that effort after being written off by so many prior to the game.
Bring on the rematch.

Put everything into their defence in the 2nd half and some great skill to build the lead. Brilliant.

Yeah but that didn't last long. Barrett kicking at what percentage? Especially the sitter to draw it

And congrats from me. I actually enjoyed that game more than any of the others we've played this year. It was a cracker.

Now we just need to set up the testicle sacrifice ceremony given this from the match thread.

Came home went on BBC website to catch result.
Scrolled through two pages of headlines (including Netball) and it’s still not deemed interesting enough to appear 😟

2 from 6, 33%. Pathetic!

Yeah; it’s been a touch couple of years.

Not sure what this means or if it means anything to be honest. Don’t get me wrong, it’s always great to notch up a win against NZ, but I’m still worries about a number of underlying issues.

If anything, this feeling will be a memory the players and the team can build on because we really need to turn a corner for good. We can’t loose to Japan and Italy and Argentina and an under pressure Aussie team on a 6 game losing streak...and then beat NZ in NZ in an unexpected upset and think all is well again.

Super effort from the Boks. This feels a bit like Chicago and we know what happened a week later.

I expect the ABs a will be hitting the tackle bags big time over the coming weeks. Pretoria could be brutal.... and I expect the Boks will be up for it as well.

Into the history books goes Rassie Erasmus' men.

(since readmission)

1998 - Nick Mallett's Boks 13-3 @ Wellington - Captain: Gary Teitchmann
2008 - Pieter de Villiers' Boks 30-28 @ Dunedin - Captain: Victor Matfield (Smit injured)
2009 - Pieter de Villiers' Boks 32-29 @ Hamilton - Captain: John Smit
2018 - Rassie Erasmus' Boks 36-34 @ Wellington - Captain: Siya Kolisi

Well done and bloody well deserved.

You forgot cross kicks into touch, kickoff not going the distance, aimlessly kicking a grubber in goal after only 2 phases and Beaudy doing his best crab impression.

Even so the boks still did a lot of good stuff, three of their tries weren't gifted to them, and were very well constructed.

But to win NZ in Wellington with that little possession or territory says that things can become well again. I really believed we would lose. But the Boks played like Rassie"s Free State team did - tried to do everything well. Be good at all facets. And defend like heroes.
It worked .

Thanks, NZ.
