I notice they have little boxes for ashes within a larger structure (columbarium?). Not even that?

My grandmother was talking funerals the other day and said cremation costs $8000 ...

Can’t I just be burned in my canoe on a river for free?

I'd do the same but most of my organs would be rejected.

We are running out of cemetery space here. I shall not be aware of my time in a burner, and I'm not too worried about that.

But it would be nice to put a bit of humour up for those who visit.

They are burying folk vertically in some places now. "Standing room only".

Can you pop it up in English?

Nah. I'm happy to leave the space for the living.

Eventually, I'll leave a note to my kids requesting them to go scatter the ashes over the Sportsground quietly at night on the eve of a big European game. It should be a 4G pitch by then.

No gravestone for me. My wife and I both want our ashes scattered in a place we both love -- off Fishermans Wharf at Northcote Point would do fine.

Per ardua ad astra is an RAF motif.

Sure, Seneca the Younger wrote "there is no easy way from the earth to the stars"=Non est ad astra mollis e terris via.

The RAF motto has a similar meaning, in the same line is ""ad astra per aspera".

I daresay I’ll just want to be burned and chucked off a cliff somewhere.

A lady I know played the part. Hope you and LP are trundling through parenthood.

We are up to our eyeballs in being grandparents. The trip to the (next to) Wobbledom houses are seriously tedious.

The ruddy GPS keeps wanting us to trundle through all sorts.

We just ignore it and hit the A3 westbound.

I'm so glad I do not live in London anymore. Breath of fresh air up here.

Plus the value of bits and pieces has rocketed in Norfolk.

Cash for the grand-kiddiwinks. The poor people trying to buy first time is impossible without help.

Hope you can bung a bit of stuff to your own.

Go on. Have bit of a punt. Visit our lovely Town.

Put me in a cardboard box, stick me in the ground and plant a tree on top. No need for any permanent reminder of my existence..
