There was a short piece on BBC news about the by-election in Newport, Gwent. It opened with a shot of a bilingual sign saying 'Croeso i Drefdraeth/Welcome to Newport' with a clearly rural background to the sign - not surprising as this was Newport, Pembrokeshire, population a few hundred.
Someone cocked up with the library footage and chose the wrong Newport.

Well it was funny, I’m going for the incompetence explanation. Many years ago on Top of the Pops they showed a picture of Jockie Wilson for Jackie Wilson, but that was on purpose, they claimed.
