As I understand it the boxers were from Daniel Kinahan’s gym based on the Costa del Sol. So doubtful we are dealing with the cream of society. The Kinahans are a lovely family altogether.

Quote:
SHOTS have been fired at a boxing weigh-in at the Regency Hotel in Drumcondra in Dublin this afternoon - with one man believed to be dead, and another injured.

Three men burst into the foyer of the hotel at approximately 2.30pm dressed in "police-style" uniforms and armed with what eye witnesses say looked like AK47s :uhoh: :uhoh: , and fired a number shots, leading to dozens of people fleeing from the hotel.

It is understood that one man died at the scene. Two other men are seriously injured.

The three men, all aged in their twenties or thirties, were brought to Beaumont and the Mater Hospital. The injuries of the two men are not believed to be life-threatening.

There is a large garda presence now at the scene and gardai have begun investigating the incident.

The scene is sealed off and a technical examination of the area is expected to take place.

Dublin Fire Brigade have crews from both Finglas and Phibsboro as well as paramedics at the scene.
They tweeted: "We're responding to a serious incident in a hotel in Whitehall, crews from Finglas, P'boro + advanced paramedics [sic]."
On their Facebook page, the promoters MGM had advertised an official weigh-in for 'Clash of the Clans' Show at the Regency, which was due to begin at 2pm this afternoon.

MGM is a new Professional Boxing Gym in the heart of Puerto Banus, Spain.

The headline bout on tomorrow night's card is Jamie Kavanagh versus Joao Bento for the vacant WBO European Lightweight Title.

Tomorrow night's card at the National Arena in Tallaght was due to be broadcast live on Box Nation.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area of the Regency Hotel or may have information, to contact them at Ballymun Garda Station on 01 666 4400.

If descendants of the Marquis of Queensbury knew about this, they'd be turning in their graves.

Oh. Hang on ...........

Saw that. Probably turn out to be Glocks.
If there was really automatic fire from AK's you'd expect the M1 to be the getaway route.
Scary stuff in a hotel.

I thought TV3s coverage was shocking when they interviewed two 'witnesses' who had been away from the hotel during the shooting but had seen it on facebook. Then the BBC went to their studio in Belfast for their special report. Why is everyone else a f**king idiot monkey?

The Regency is surprisingly OK for a three star though the food is a bit iffy

Do you really believe that the guards consider themselves a law enforcement agency?

Report on the incident.

Also includes footage from the time of the shooting - although the only thing you see is a panic and people running out of the hotel.
Plus a terrified young boy asking "Daddy, what was that?"

Drove past the hotel at about 7, completely forgot about the shooting and couldn't figure out why there were loads of vehicles parked around the area, RTE van as well.

Quite a bit of traffic, bloody rubberneckers

Boxing really attracts all sorts of filth.

The headline writers must have been in overdrive last night and the Sunday rags will be too. Paul Williams with a major boner as well no doubt.

The crims must love Paul Williams. He's their PR department.
Giving them celeb status.

It's actually a pretty cool gang land story, provided in innocent people were killed or injured. The guy that was shot dead was also a notorious criminal and murderer.

You'll be buying the Sunday World tomorrow no doubt. x(

The nicknames, the salaciousness- everything about these writers is uncouth.

I'd probably favour legalisation of this shit just so these scumbags could stop being given celeb status. Apart from these off events I don't hear about it though as I don't read trash.

Sorry to say I'm not a Sunday World reader or fan of Williams, but isn't he with the News of the World now, or one of the English based rags? I too don't like the way he gives the underworld hoods celebrity status.

Hopefully these scumbags will continue to butcher each other without civilian casualties..... unfortunately the odds are against that.
