 hopeful but not confident. Should be a good game though, better than last year's final at least!
I think Leinster do have the ability to stop Saracens where other teams have had trouble but they're probably going to have to have their best game of the season.

Sarries are also tailor-made to stopping Leinster getting going. Toulouse are amazing to watch, but still do daft things and allow a bit of space for Leinster to play. Sarries won't do those things.

Pretty sure Leinster will have taken note that there is no offside line and that putting a moving wall around your team mate about to catch a high ball is fully legal.
I expect enough torpedoes from both sides to sink a fleet of Lusitanias also.

I went to school with a lad who started supporting them about then. He would’ve been 6. We used to give him an awful slagging over it. Nowadays, I’d have to admire his persistence sticking with them all these years.

I can't really whinge. Started going regularly in 1996 when we got relegated to division 2, and since then we've had 4 promotions, three relegations, three FA Cup semi finals and a league cup final.

Other supporters have had it much worse.

We beat them home and away in 2010/11 pool stages . Apart from them matches and last year’s quarter final I don’t think we’ve met competitively

Apologies for the thread jack.
A friend has two tickets for the final for sale, PM me if interested or know anyone who is.
I'm going so can meet up on Friday or Saturday for the exchange.

Flying in from France, so not really an issue but my lad could only get a flight to Glasgow from Dublin and a train down but accommodation was a pain. Finally got a couple of rooms in the Raddison Blu in Durham..!! Reliably informed it's only a short cab ride to Newcastle but I am starting to worry...

Eggchasers have put out a preview podcast. Not the best informed one Ive heard from them, but a decent listen.

One thing they ran through was the composite squad from both sides - my effort:

Mako
George
Furlong
Ryan
Itoje
Fardy
SOB
Billy

McGrath - this one is very tight for me
Sexton
Lowe
Farrell
Ringrose
Williams
Goode

Cronin
Healy
Koch
Kruis
Conan
Spencer
Henshaw
Larmour

Manage their predictable kicking game and give Farrell a few digs.

Not that reliably, it's 20 miles and half an hour by car, if you're taking a taxi you'll get rinsed in the wallet. Get the train to Newcastle and walk to SJP, costs bugger all, won't take you longer than 40 minutes total

Chuckles I'm driving from Stansted, staying outside Durham - would I be better parking in Durham and training it to Newcastle then?

Yes, easily the best option. Only 12 to 15 minutes and plenty of trains.
