Reckon there was something going on down the beach that day, or does it look like that every weekend in summer?

Trivia:
– The Sharks have won their last two Super Rugby games on the bounce against the Lions; however, they had lost their seven meetings in succession prior to that brace.

– The Sharks have lost five of their last seven South African derbies as hosts in Super Rugby, including their last two on the bounce; they have never lost more than three such fixtures in succession.

– The Lions have won 10 of their last 13 Super Rugby matches visiting the other South African teams (D1, L2), both losses in that span came despite leading at half-time.

– The Lions are one of only two teams (Rebels) with a 90% success rate at both the lineout (90%) and the scrum (92%) in Super Rugby 2019.

– Makazole Mapimpi (Sharks) has scored three tries in his last three games against the Lions, including a brace in his last game against them.

Will be nice if the Lions can keep the Sharks losing at home.

They played the same old same week in week out, now Sards want to use it as an excuse. Not that I expect otherwise. He have excuses for everything.

I think you will find that unlike you I don't have a pathological hatred of the Stormers like you do for the Sharks.

Good for them. Most of the games I have seen of the Lions they run around like headless chickens burning so much energy. They exhaust me just watching them...

Won more games than the Sharks this year so it's okay. Maybe they will exhaust the Sharks players too

Yet only 2 points ahead of the Sharks because of all the Sharks bonus points just getting on with the job. Bonus points you would expect from the Lions with all that headless basket ball shit...It would make a change if you win again. Its been awhile...and if they do well then they deserve it...as long as we don't get more bent reffing

Oh...there was one set piece try executed outstandingly by the Lions last weekend. I said so in the match thread. Nice and simple and effective.

Vorster has been one of his team’s stars in the last fortnight and he said the decision to drop him was one of the best things that could have happened.

“It’s great to be back playing and I’m really enjoying it,” said the 25-year-old.

“I actually told coach Swys recently that I am thankful for what he did. It was a wake-up call for me. It made me hungry to play again, to get into the best shape and form that I could. I’ve come back better and stronger, and focused on the basics. There’s also no additional pressure on me; I can just go out there and express myself.”

As a neutral I will be supporting the team who I think will qualify for the semi's and compete well, be it home or away. I will be supporting the team who play rugby that's easy on the eye, without fear and where they play for each other.

Go Lions.

But the Sharks are only 2 points behind. They lose well.

The Lions seem to have finished with their experimenting of the first half of the season and are settling down with their current first choice team for the rest of the campaign.

Players like Vorster, Mapoe, Skosan and Coetzee are playing better rugby too after being dropped a few times

Should be a good game on Saturday

Still surprised to see Similane so relegated after the couple of great performances he put in earlier in the season

I'm not sure what the story is there as he hasn't been playing in the SSRC either. Not till last week anyway

The Stomps hate of the Sharks is like savoring a medium rare Rump char grilled over a sizzling bed of coals and smothered with a decadent Maddagascan Pepper sauce. You cannot get enough.

I look forward to this match, not quite as much as I do the build up to the Sharks vs Stomps match.

Stormers vs Shark, well it's just another game for us. We don't measure our season as a success by just beating one particular team. I guess when you aspire to be the best, you need to beat the best, the rest don't matter.
