Was their lock I think ? Shaggy red hair chap ?
Did he ever play again ??!!
It's the only time I recall seeing him, and was only reminded of it, because of the amount of help Orie has given the Sharks today.

Van Vuuren has been a big surprise this year....been outstanding.
Bosch had another TOTW performance. Defense was outstanding all around.
Mapimpi sensational.

Got the wood on the Lions now...3 in a row

Match of the match easily. Defence, attack, turnovers. Probably won the match for Sharks.
Yeah, easily the MOTM. The Boks are looking good at wing. I thought Dyantyi had quite a good game as well in a losing cause.

We are 2nd on 33pts. Jaguares top on 36.

Close league though hey, flipping around all over the place. Overall ?
If there is a final in Durban, I have to fly there for a weekend - will be £1000 easily !

Outside backs are looking strong, it's just if the combinations are there. Inside backs are more of a worry, if they keep refusing to select Frans then Sardy's choice of AE seems the best option at 12.

Rhyno Herbst - 4 penalties and a yc

Got injured on tour the next game

The sad part is that Rassie will definitely play DDA. It's a crying shame really.

He was so indecisive today you could actually watch him thinking about what to do next with ball in hand. We're not really full of decent midfielders.

Lions still ahead of the Stormers and in 8th, SA Conference still close for 2nd spot, the Pumuares have a good lead now, playing the Reds in Brisbane and then 2 games at home

Sharks last 2 matches will define their playoff position...but beating the Hurricanes next week is non negotiable. Just to keep it safe.
Really have a tough run in.

Would also be great to keep our great record against Australasian opposition tidy

Mapimpi and Mapoe need to be in contention for Bok jerseys  great games from them.

Cameraman did great work with spotting babes in the crowd on the TV coverage too

Great to win at home and turn the tables on the Lions' record against us.

Mapimpi and Nkosi look in great form. Fassi getting better each game too. Backline looking very good from 10 up.

I thought our front row would struggle but that scrum, but we made mincemeat of a good Lions scrum, very encouraging to see.

Lions impressed giving it their best shot.

The SA conference has overtaken the NZ conference as the most competitive conference in the competition.

The Lions struggled up front in the first 20 to 30 minutes and then made most of the play after that. They created 4 of the 5 tries scored. They should have made more of their opportunities but didn't.

Would you consider this a "close loss" for the Lions?

Close losses mean you get a bonus point, we didn't.

But in a sense the Lions gifted to game to Sharks with two intercepts while they were on the attack.

The Sharks defence on the line kept the Lions out a number of times and Mapimpi's tackle on Mapoe when he went in to score saved a certain try.

So, I'm not too unhappy with the Lions' play even though we lost

I was worried the Lions may sneak it.

The Lions should have their first choice front row back to start so the scrums should be better from the get go and that will be crucial as the Stormers are starting to click.

Could be a high scoring game

You had them on the back foot. Jantjies, Vorster and Mapoe look like Bok material. Dominate the Sharks in that channel.

Doesn't help when you dominate the opposition and fail to use the opportunities to score.

Mapoe was in fantastic form....the other two.....which game did you watch . Junktjies was terrible. Voster was completely dominated by AE and Am.

An 8-8 penalty count. Geez I bet that was a cold bucket of water to the face for the Lions.

They've been used to an armchair ride from the refs in recent weeks.

Neither were Bok standard yesterday. Even Stander looked sharper.
