I guess we'll finally get an answer to the question of how good BB really is? (AKA, how will BB look behind a shit pack?)

Um, have you seen most of the Canes' packs he's had to work with?

Of more concern for BB is how he's looked at times behind decent packs

Yes, very underrated packs which boasted numerous All Blacks and fringe All Blacks, and regularly bested the Crusaders forwards in both the loose and the tight.

The reason the Blues are the worst team in NZ, is that they play in a uniquely non-Kiwi way, i.e. as individuals instead of a team. Give me a Canes pack that plays as a team any day of the week over a Blues pack that may on paper has more talent, but is demonstrably worse.

Irrespective of who rolls out for the Blues in the pack, if they don't manage to fix that problem, then BB will definitely be playing behind a shit pack once again.

sure,

The likes of JTA and assorted journeymen props vs Moody and Franks
No locks vs 2 AB Locks
Savea and some extras vs Read, Todd, Taufua et all

It's never really been a contest

Oh, don't get me wrong, the Blues are generally worse than the Canes up front. But it's not like Barrett has been coasting behind the best forward pack in the game.

right, now the thread has been officially opened with great joy and merriment throughout the land of motorways and nimbys, we now need to get one more AB-quality lock, a hooker who can throw in straight, and a workhorse number 8 to give AI a push. I thought the pack performed much better this year but obviously still also-rans against the top teams. I think if they get rid of Parsons, the performance of the pack would improve by 50%.

AC is right, observably and demonstrably the Hurricanes pack had the better of their Crusader counterparts in 2 games out of 3 this year, they're the Rolls Royce pack of 2019.

Need a few South Island journeymen to bolster the pack with no frills hard graft rugby. Too many school boy superstars still convinced they're the big kids on the park.

That's the Blues problem summed up as succinctly as I've ever seen.

Hard work always trumps talent, when talent doesn't work hard. The Blues recruit schoolboys superstars. The Crusaders have always recruited the hardest workers. One day the Blues will figure this out.

If BB ain't bringing Coles + TJP with him, then he'll struggle to make an impact...

Parsons is washed, and our best halfback last season was Sam Nock.

Hang on, you've been pounding the table for months now about the incredible workrate of AI this year. Was that all smoke and mirrors?

Hold the ship folks, we're now going after Jordie Barrett as well - replacement for Melani Nanai.

Come to the Highlanders mate.

Worst outcome for me would be to back the team of my birthplace.

There is an England player coming over next year. Joe Marchant. Any Englishers know if he is any good? If he is, the Blues will teach him about playing through adversity and to always remain optimistic.

Highlights are promising. Of course, these are highlights. I hope the Englishers can tell us what his weaknesses are.
