Following hot on the heels of the reported signings of Cheetahs duo Ox Nche (prop) and Henco Venter (loose forward), and well as former Blitzbok standout Werner Kok and Stormers No 8 Sikhumbuzo Notshe, comes the news that Lions flyer Madosh Tambwe will report for training at Kings Park on November 1.
Thanks Assfly...never saw this.....

Kok is an outstanding player....we are looking super for Super rugby 2019 again.....

Notsche...... :uhoh: .....lets hope he plays better under the Sharks...

Pity that we're losing him but a youngster who was behind Kwagga and Marnus Schoeman. Similar player in size and style

Seems the Sharks are also signing Madosh Tambwe from the Lions, who got no game time in SR this year but has performed well in the CC.

Ox Nche and Hencco Venter (Cheetahs) has already been confirmed with Werner Kok and Sikhumbuzo Notshe apparently also signing. Werner Kok hasn't really impressed in 15s at the Stormers

He looks like a try scoring machine...the key for me is that he is still young and can develop at the Sharks and we need some heavy hitters in our backrow...

No 7s player has impressed at WP/Stormers....they couldn't even get Senatla to step up to Superrrugby...But no surprise when there are Donkeys throughout the team who don't believe in passing the ball rather than taking contact...from the Front row to the backline.

Tambwe is a flyer and will probably replace our aging players ...like Mvovo who has been in great form...you lot will miss him now that Dyanti is banned for 4 years....

All around you can see that they have put a lot of thought into the squad for 2020....which is more than can be said for the other unions that are bleeding players at the end of the RWC. We have bled ours already.

Some of these signings are very odd. Only Nche and maybe James Venter make any sense.

Kok is a sevens specialist and should remain there, and Notshe is a hopelessly average player. Tambwe will just queue behind Nkosi and Mapimpi.

With so many Freestaters making up the spine of the Sharks team, I might have to make them my second favorite team in Super Rugby for next ear.

You need to check with one of the Stomps like beachboy who is more in the loop.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3duNFGPalw

he captained the side so is a leader...

he may go into the Currie Cup side as we have Bosch and Chamberlain who are going to make up the starters for the Super rugby team.

But he is very young and it will be great for him to be part of a great culture and the oppurtunity to make some more finals/playoffs

I'm surprised that more WP players haven't gone to the Sharks seeing that the Sharks seem to have cash.

Which players? Sharks have opened up their cheque book since the twins left. Must have made a decent profit. But they seem to be targeting young players. Players that can fit into their culture. Notsche is the only left field purchase for me. Maybe they feel he has more to offer than WP could get out of him. I hear and read about how the Sharks are poachy scum and are buying a team. The reality is that some just haven't evolved into the concept that it's a professional sport . More bitterness at losing young talent than actual resentment that the Sharks are definitely the team to play for.

Maybe Notshe has been on a go slow as he doesn't drink cheap wine, eat Bokkoms or like shopping at Shoprite?

This whole reveal episode is very entertaining and I am sure quite uplifting for the players that are revealed. Good on the Sharks. They really are at the forefront of innovation and brand awareness. Weren't the Sharks the leaders in embracing professionalism.

All jokes aside, I must admit that I'm growing tired of SR. Sucks going into a tournament year after year that you have no chance of winning (nor any other side for that matter).

I think most of the SA SR teams are recruiting quite heavily given all the players lost, And with the contracted players limited to 45 any excess players will look for starting opportunities, or at least regular game time

Anyway....reveal number 5. Henco Venter.

Position:Flanker

Height:1.93 m

Weight:110.00 kg

Player Details

Name: Henco

Surname: Venter

Date of Birth: 27/03/1992

Place of Birth: Bloemfontein

Biography

Henco Venter has been a long-time servant of the Toyota Cheetahs and has represented the franchise in the Currie Cup, Super Rugby and Guinness PRO14.

Following the Cheetahs maiden season in the PRO14 he was one of several players who headed to Japan, however, he was the only one of the players to return from the Land of the Rising Sun.

Venter, linked up with the Cheetahs again in 2019 and was immediately named in the squad to tour Ireland and Wales for the matches against Connacht, Scarlets and Leinster.

Sunny you would think we have our loose forwards and backline covered now..and one front row.

I like Henco Venter.

Happy with most of the signings. Ox is a massively positive one. He should be pushing for a regular Bok spot behind Kitshoff once Beast’s gone. Will be competing with Gqoboka, who I like too, but I think Ox has more to his game overall.

I’m happy enough with our backline stocks. We haven’t lost anyone significant and guys like Fassie, Nohamba and Chamberlain coming through are better than new signings.
Lock is the problem area. Van Heerden will be good but we could do with a grizzly veteran alongside him. Andrews is average. Van Der Mescht is a huge prospect but needs a year or 2.

Hyron impressed me hugely this year. But he is no Mostert. There are 4 to go and the indications are that one is a junior WP backline player so let's hope some locks come out in the mix

2020 promises to be a cracker for us.

I also think Van Vuuren faded toward the end of the season. The youngster who was subbing for him still needs to be more forceful. Early days.
