So disappointing to see the kick at the end. They could have scored a TRY or a pen but the one thing you didn't want them to to is kick the ball away.
Exactly Anon, and you'd think even a fatty should know better these days.

2 tries to nil with the ref giving dodgy penalties yeah real lucky
Japan messed up an early try and missed a pen kick. Ireland have missed nothing regarding easy scoring ops.

Yeah agree we’re not tight enough. Carty needs to put structure on things. Slow it down. Ref isn’t letting us scrum though

Our linespeed is strangely slow.

Gardner has been ok, nothing egregious. He's reffing a la SH, he wants fast ball and is favouring the attacking side.

He’s just a sloppy ref but some hometown decisions creeping like that penalty against VDF

Ah FFS, and a fatty kicks possession away.
It looked like a 3 on 2 or even a 3-1 on that side.
So frustrating.
They've needed to straighten their line of attack a few times, and they could've been a much better chance of a try, but they haven't got the nous under pressure by the look of it.
I reckon they could find some breaks if they keep up this pace in the 2nd half.

They disintegrated. Anyway no wonder Aussie rugby is in the state it is with refs like this
Jesus. Do you lads not have rewind on your TV. Watch it again, their tight five is perfectly intact as they come through. It's the Ireland five that disintegrate.

Replays on ITV at HT show that the Irish scrum really was rinced when Japan got that penalty, with the left side under Healy crumbling under pressure.

Did anyone else hear Miles Harrison say Matsushima was lucky to get a hat trick in the first game? He's quite the patronising type when it takes his fancy.

Penalty count favours Japan 6-4

Reading through this thread you get the feeling that Ireland should be leading the penalty count by 70-0.

Impossible. That was the Lions front row. Couldn't have happened. I mean the ref is crooked. Bent. Paid for. x(

Nah, the Irish will take this comfortably
I don't know. I'm worried about the humidity. Our linespeed is glacial compared to what it should be and if we can't slow them down we're going to struggle later on.
