I'll hold my hand up in admitting I haven't actually read the rulebook, but isn't "being on the way" the fundamental base of defense?merlin the happy pig wrote:Not even a penalty really bizarre.FairWeather_Aussie wrote:He did. Not wrong though. Disappointing campaignrfurlong wrote:Cvnt alertTheflier wrote:So in summary Ireland's 2019 world cup campaign was a victory against Scotland.
He was preventing the ball being grounded, you can use any body part. Base of the post is considered in goal.BlueThunder wrote:No arms tackle, unsportsmanlike play.merlin the happy pig wrote:Not even a penalty really bizarre.FairWeather_Aussie wrote:He did. Apologies for appreciating good play. It's not all about you you bitter arserfurlong wrote:Another cvnt .... what’s the connection?AND-y wrote:That was beautiful
I agree, it's not so much that the Irish were so bad, it's just that our boys were on fire tonight.de_Selby wrote:Well done NZ. So clinical, I don't think we were actually playing badly to start off with, but any minor mistake was punished.
After that point we crumbled though.
The match against England is the final IMO

If you're going to lose to a team do it a year before the World cup quarter finalsBlueThunder wrote:Very cunning of Hansen to lull Ireland into a false sense of security by losing to them twice

Don’t agree, you were very good but we were very poor. Way too many unforced errors.capt hurricane wrote:I agree, it's not so much that the Irish were so bad, it's just that our boys were on fire tonight.de_Selby wrote:Well done NZ. Read was marvelous, but yeah, Ardie.
Meath/Cavan border but maybe some Irish connection as they were there with their father on a farm swap plus their Irish look and name?Miguel Indurain wrote:They lived in Mullingar for a couple of years.quarter2four wrote:Have they Irish ancestry? Can we sub you off for someone with half a brain?comets wrote:not sure why he got subbed off early
He tackled the player without his arms. Regardless if he intended to or not.JPNZ wrote:The YC for Todd was an absolute homer for Ireland. Todd was onside and since when has falling down and defending your line been a YC?
Terrible call from Owens that’s Stains an otherwise good game
I just went back to look at the replays of that... he wasn't offside at all.sonic_attack wrote:Is that Todd yellow legit?
I mean it's done, but how can he be offside?
Yeh smith was good as well but read played the full 80 and never stopped. -tough callUncleFB wrote:Aaron Smith was by far our key player - easily MoTM.Ted. wrote:brat wrote:I thought read was the motmcomets wrote:BB was good but not PotM ..surely Ardie hands down...

The whole pack did a job, but I felt Read led from the front and looked like the player of a few years ago... Ardie was good too... even Owen Franks performed well according to some...brat wrote:Yeh smith was good as well but read played the full 80 and never stopped. -tough callUncleFB wrote:Aaron Smith was by far our key player - easily MoTM.Ted. wrote:brat wrote:I thought read was the motmcomets wrote:BB was good but not PotM ..surely Ardie hands down...

Multiple times? Really? I’ll give you the neck roll on Savea. But what were the other YC missed?Nui. wrote:I just went back to look at the replays of that... he wasn't offside at all.sonic_attack wrote:Is that Todd yellow legit?

Owens immediately stated that Todd came in from an offside position..... which he clearly didn't as he was behind the line.
Then Owens reiterated and said he came in from an offside position to deliberately block the posts.
You can see Todd went for a shoulder block on Stander and got shunted back into the posts by Stander and his support players.... he didn't try to dive in front of the posts at all.
Owens got that whole thing wrong, but he clearly wanted to give Ireland something so what can you do?
Pretty f**king gutless by Owens considering Ire should have been carded multiple times in the first half.
Yeah, Smith probably desrves MOTM but Goodhue had a sensational first half.brat wrote:Yeh smith was good as well but read played the full 80 and never stopped. -tough callUncleFB wrote:Aaron Smith was by far our key player - easily MoTM.Ted. wrote:brat wrote:I thought read was the motmcomets wrote:BB was good but not PotM ..surely Ardie hands down...

Smith couldn't help getting pulled ... we always do that. Read put in a good night at the coal face but Smith was the key to our game. So wins my vote.brat wrote:Yeh smith was good as well but read played the full 80 and never stopped. -tough callUncleFB wrote:Aaron Smith was by far our key player - easily MoTM.Ted. wrote:brat wrote:I thought read was the motmcomets wrote:BB was good but not PotM ..surely Ardie hands down...
