I actually agree with Barnes' interpretation...although, it's a totally different interpretation to pretty much any other ref.

Barnes is the best ref going, but that's a really bad miss. :uhoh:

Barnes is refereeing this as if it’s being played in 1988.

100% you cant just run near the ball and get in the way of someone who is trying to catch it hoping his arm finds your head/neck.

PSdT has been very poor in this match. Worst match of the year.

Not the kind of game that suits his style. He looks like he is chasing ghosts out there.

I didn't argue against them, I only called the play as it actually happened.

1.The tackle wasn't completed so he doesn't have to release.

2. You are off your feet either A. Get up or B. Stay down. He crawled a few times which is OFF YOUR FEET. You can't play and be off your feet.

Frigging brilliant call. World cup final ref here
Second tackler was making contact on his back when he was still on the ground. That’s as good as held, no?
He doesn't seem to be crawling. He looks desperate to get to his feet but keeps getting knocked. He never looks to be properly held other than a despairing grip of his shirt.

Anyway, decision made so fudge it.
So a tackle was made the if there was contact by a player who had their knee on the ground. So he needed to release the ball. He disnt and the correct call was made
