Average thread. Should have left it to a pro for such an important clash. Title needs full honours too

75 pages prior to kickoff is a worthy target to aim
for.

As still somewhat of a noob (Fu ck off tm), I agree. For a game like this, we need more info, past war results, atrocities, beauty pageant winners etc.

I'm quietly confident about this match, while still keeping my modest, self deprecating, quaint, all up "good bloke kiwi" charm.

England have never beaten the ABs at the WC (including two losses at "HQ", which I believe stands for "Hubris Queens").

England have only won 1 of their last 15 tests against the ABs, just once in the last 15 years.

England are conceding 1.8 tries per test during this RWC cycle but are scoring 3.7 per test.

NZ are conceding 1.7 tries during that same cycle and are scoring 5.5 per test.

It shouldn't be close.

England by 4.

yes, was thinking that today. RWCs can be a littel repetitive, in the sense we seem to get a lot of the same fixtures regularly, unlike the football world cup.

This is a fixture we havent seen at a long time in a world cup with th added bonus of only one game between the two semi finalists in the last 5 years I think?

Its fitting that both sides are at the top of their game and would be worthy finalists and indeed winners. Its a true heavyweight clash.

f**king loving it!!

A match worthy of a final.

2 best teams in the competition for me.

Looking at the OP again.

If the outcome comes down to coolest rugby jerseys, the ABs would walk in to the win.

There are titans who have gone before him. Brave but I think ultimately wrong move. Will it affect the outcome? Time will tell

Who do you want to be the ref and why?

Jaco please.

He's experienced, not infallible but usually unflappable and generally reasonable, and you can't ask more than that. As a back-up Nick Berry.

No Frogs please.

This could leave deep teeth marks on one's posterior. :(

We'll never get to 75 pages before kick off if we put all that in the OP.

In 2003, Australia lost the Bledisloe Cup, and they have not held the trophy since.

Now, who was the Wallabies coach in 2003 again?

Jesus Christ, Australia 16 years?
Tbf who would have won it in their place during that period?
Only 2009 Boks I guess?

There is a silver lining in facing NZ. It’s the sort of fixture that never happens in the 6N: England have no realistic chance of winning. Like supporting Richard Dunn fighting Muhammad Ali. So I’ve no anxiety about the result and can have a stress-free week. All I’m looking for is a creditable loss.

Congratulations All Blacks, on winning the semi-final, the final and another four years’ worth of grudging respect and admiration from all supporters of all other rugby nations.

We’re only halfway through the quarters and there’s a semi final thread? Disrespectful to the other side of the draw.

Now, now, none of us are Irish, I'm sure we can keep it to an acceptable 20 or so.

To hell with the Mocker Gods. They know I've put money on England to win and there isn't a damn thing they can do to stop me collecting.

What sorry little arguments will the English media try for this week?

Surely they can improve on the whingeing from the Scots (although to be fair theirs wasn't a bad effort considering we weren't even playing them) and the Irish.

Duly amended to abject appeasement.

And if you don't mind me saying, your cap looks ever so slightly self-righteous, even sneaky, at that angle.

Jaunty. The cap’s at a jaunty angle. Still flat though.

Tight game in which no score would surprise. You can imagine England whacking the AB like they did in 2012, or you can imagine the AB taking England to the cleaners like they did to the Irish today, or a game that could end up going to extra time and a count back is done and a win to the team that scored the most boundaries.

We lose that one if the number of tries is identical
