The final hasn't even been played yet. It's still up in the air who will win.

Big morning audience for 1st semi-final of
@rugbyworldcup
- 7.4m see #england beat #NewZealand, 65% of all tv viewing between 8.45 & 11.30 (higher again for male viewers, 74%) and a peak audience of 9.9m at end of match.
Pretty impressive, usually only England va a home nation in prime time gets those figures

Boris will be looking to give an OBE to the winner of the Egg and Spoon race at my local primary. Tbh, knighthoods are the are minimum for beating the ABs. If we win the damn thing then there's a new royal family on the cards

The way I saw it at the time is he has lost control and then braced the ball against the player in front to regather. Like an accidental offside.
Uh... the hand bracing the ball against the leg of the player in front is the hand of the player in front. The hand doing the bracing belongs to George. So does the leg.
That’s the problem, I don’t think anybody realised who had the ball.

Indeed.

It's the the problem with the biggest abomination in the game , the Rolling Maul.

I defies logic that we continue to sanction what is organised, nay choreographed offside play , which is totally opposed the basic concepts of the game.

Complicate it further by allowing deliberate , often dangerous ' sacking of the maul before it has moved from the advantage line whilst penalising often accidental collapse of a dangerous melee of close to 2 tonnes of massed bodies .

The Stellenbosch variations were a step in the right direction but allowing 'sacking' at will could frequently be very dangerous to the participants.

IMO , continue to allow mauls BUT any player bound in front of the ball carrier is deemed to be offside .

I wasn't annoyed by either of the calls that disallowed the two tries. 1st one was as clear as day, 2nd a tad unfortunate but I'd have been horrified if such a try had been left to stand against my team. Took the gloss of the scoreboard but nothing to cry about.

Not sure if this has been posted but looks like England may be fined for going over the halfway line during the Haka.

Be shit if they are, should tell WR to fudge off!

Haven't WR been sending out videos saying what a brilliant response, at least their PR monkeys have?

Fwiw the talk in the England camp is they think it's Marler at risk so they'd like a fine in order to laugh at him for having to hand over some cash (which yes the RFU would likely cover but isn't as amusing)

The haka is a challenge, the English accepted the challenge and may have breached WR 'rules' on protocol...and next Saturday we have the final of RWC.

It was an exceptionally thrilling game and will surely go down as a classic game.

I need to do that too. Watch it in the cold light of day to understand how and why we were so comprehensively thumped. :)

If England appeal they should sue the tweets of the WR account as evidence WR approved it. If only to make the hearing be self-evidently obviously ridiculous.

I’d glossed over this during the aftermath of the game itself, but I’ve just remembered that the English knocked us out of the WC with Willi Heinz. I mean what they actual fux.

I vehemently disagree. It was a terrible game from my perspective. :(

It was, however, a great game from the English players. So maybe you should rephrase your statement to What. A. 50%. Game. ;)
