Spot of rain up north today

It's been raining up here (Sheffield) for what seems like weeks, but today has taken the biscuit. Will continue into the night

They've shut the punters at Meadowhall in as the roads around are flooded. Poor Bastards.

Can think of few things worse. Especially on a school night.

You're obviously not thinking outside the box. Seal up the outside of your conservatory, let it fill up, and then you can open your own aquarium.

If he seals up the outside then how the hell does the rain get in?

No wonder he had to move to a developing nation.

Weird weather in the South. Lashed rain all night, to the point that some roads were blocked this morning, but was really sunny and cold all day.

Things are getting hairy here in Doncaster. I live next to a stream, it's pretty high, we have these overflow basins in the estate though so hoping they work lol

Been lashing all day in Dublin. Similar to Monday when the rain was biblical.

Could be a few more of these. The low pressure systems have been taking a south easterly track and this has dragged north easterly winds over Dublin. That and the convection over the Irish sea is bringing that very heavy rain

Plenty of flooding in North Lincs and North Notts. Fire crews pumping people's homes out. My village is divided in two with no way through thanks to twats in Audis getting stuck in a flood.

It's actually been quite pleasant since about 9pm last night in Leeds.

Guessing my club's match is cancelled tomorrow though given how much rain there was, not that I'm annoyed as I'm out injured.

This is why we are pleased to be on the highest hill in Oundle. If we get flooded, London will have just the top of Big Ben showing.

But it's a miserable experience. Clearing up après le déluge is a bit soul destroying.

Hebden Bridge was cut off yesterday so couldn't get our kids hair cut. Today my wife couldn't get into Manchester as the trains are cancelled so is having to work at home. Was planning to meet her in Manchester this evening for a meal. Will have to go to a local curry house instead.

Every forking day.

I know I should count my blessings, I'm on a hill so no flooding for me but it's got very annoying over a month ago.

There's been a lot of rainfall here but no localised flooding.

We have significant areas of floodzone as Oundle sits on the Nene River. It has had some advantage as development is forbidden.

We have a Flood Warden and I've been out with him in the middle of the night watching the water rise. Not had to evacuate yet (at least in the last 12 years since I got involved) but we have a good comms. strategy to get the message out and we have simulated the effect of any rise to know who to target first.

The last big rainfall affected nobody in the Town but the narrowboat owners near Ashton lock found their vessels on the bank, high and dry after the water receded. Quite an operation to get them back into the river.

Life's not dull here, all year round.

I'd love to live in England. Heavy rain/blizzard outside whilst I sit inside in front of my woodfire fireplace watching rugby on tv.
