Irishers-Official 33rd Dáil Éireann election thread
Right lads, now that the pigdogs have gotten their shit show out of the way our own election is imminent (reckon February).
Who will you be voting for?
Unlike the pigdogs, we dont use the archaic FPTP system thankfully so multiple options allowed in the poll

Re: Irishers-Official 33rd Dáil Éireann election thread
I think the Brits have shown there's no real appetite for leftist politics at a big public support level. That being said with our PR system it's possible for the non-loony lefties to influence politics in an achievable manner. They need to both compromise and develop an actual backbone. I've not seen much from Labour at that level, who come across as generally clueless but the eco-crusties have a good mix of idealistic youth in the party structure and some somewhat realists higher up in the party hierarchy. They can actually manage to implement some green policies as well as some of the more social good stuff should they consider governing. Which is one of the many problems of the bigger loonies and the shinners, they have absolutely no clue or willingness to see anything they want (which they mostly don't know themselves) come down as a government policy. They just want to whinge and moan as opponents to everything. So with all that being said I think the Greens can do some good work and potentially Labour if they actually engaged their political brains (and attracted some youth for energy.)

The interesting thing I've observed while tallying is that the electorate is ahead of the parties.
You routinely see FF 1 and FG 2 now and vice versa

Anyway Brexit wont affect how the electorate decides to vote.
I think the house crisis will screw FG, and FF will promise more residential builds and will promise to increase the supply in general.
That will do it.
