Come on. I saw the pictures of the track and you guys talking about scores of 250 and I thought one farking extreme to the other. As it turned out neither side even made 250
Are you watching the game, or just following the scores?

Was a CDG special. Nagging line and length, just nibbled a bit off the pitch and Kohli missed it. Kohli has been awful in NZ.

Commentator says he would like to see a short leg fielder. That is my pet hate. They should say where they want the fielder moved from. Now if a ball goes to where short leg would have been he will be crowing.

Commentators are also often guilty of making these brilliant calls after the ball just landed there - that's my pet hate. As you say, they seem think there about 25 fielders at your disposal.

Don't tell Anon, but that one was attributable to the pitch

If New Zealand struggle to chase these runs down it's a bad pitch.

Boult to Pujara, OUT, got him! What a peach. Breaches through Pujara's defense. Beauty from Boult. Hey, Wasim Akram? Did you watch? The legend would've been proud. He goes wide of the crease from around the wicket, floats it full. It starts from somewhere around the seventh stump, swerves in late, really late. The inward movement is towards the shiny side, so there is a hint of reverse. Pujara plays half-forward, isn't fully committed to the defensive stroke and the ball sneaks through the gap between bat and pad to crash into the stumps.
The pitch is playing tricks.

The BCs are an equal opportunity team -- they can collapse on any pitch.

With the way KJ has been bowling and batting, CDG should feel like he has a target on his back. KJ looks like he could develop into a good all rounder

Such a low scoring game it could be the difference. What was the first innings deficit

He was the lucky recipient of some horrible batting by the Indians yesterday and a lot of pressure particularly from boult - who could have easily had 5 wickets himself with a bit more luck

Wagner is the number 2 ranked bowler in the world and he is an absolute necessity for the team going foward with the old ball - he is The point of difference for the black caps in non seamer friendly conditions

I think it’s great that he’s showing promise so far-but too easy to get carried away
I'm not getting carried away. I'm pointing out the bloke's obvious advantages. He's tall. a lot taller than anyone in the BCs. He gets bounce. A lot more than anyone in the BCs. He's also taken 9 wickets to date. Against a very good Indian side. Yup he's been the recipient but he was also unfortunate. He just can't be ignored if he keeps taking wickets. He's a point of difference we don't have.
Agree he is a point of difference with his bounce -but so is Wagner with the old ball

The Indians are a great side on paper but apart from a few glimpses have been absolute rubbish with the bat this series so far - a lot of it there own fault rather than amazing bowling- yesterday was a classic example

The selectors probably missed a trick by not playing Jamieson in Sydney -would have been interesting to see how he went vs the worlds best at home

But anyway, if it’s a shoot out between any of the seamer incumbents and jamieson - he loses out at the moment

On another note- if his batting is consistent then he could get in as an all rounder, although cdg is playing very well in that position
CdG is batting well. He's not a reliable source of wickets as a bowler.
His bowling has been more consistent than his batting for a quite a while and an intergral part of our attack now

He’s not really there to take bucket loads of wickets - mainly to hold up an end with good accurate bowling to apply pressure -which he’s been doing well

India to make 150, then bowl the crappers out for 75?
Nothing would surprise me with this test.
We could just as easily roll them for 100 and knock it off with 2 down.

I really like Kohli, in fact this Indian team has been great on this tour and they have a good bond with the NZ players by the looks. People seem to see Virat’s passion, confidence and seriousness on field as equalling plum. He has incredibly high standards and usually plays as such, always a gent off the field from what I’ve seen.

India will get a lead of 160-180 and will win this. The ball is doing too much for the NZ batting to cope with an excellent Ind attack.
