Crikey. I was only having chat with the wife yesterday about never wanting to go in a helicopter. Far too many famous names have died like this.

I though this was hyperbolic nonsense, but actually appears to be true:
Based on hours alone, helicopters are 85 times more dangerous than driving. ... That means it took drivers approximately 1.47 million hours to travel those 100 million miles, yielding a fatality rate of 0.054 per 100,000 hours in the car. By this measure, helicopter flying is just 27 times more dangerous than driving

Just shows you how fragile life is. The dude was 41 and fit and rich, he probably thought he had 30+ years left. Yet he wakes up one morning and it's lights out before lunch time. :uhoh:

Report i read said he is survived by wife and 3 daughters who were believed NOT to be onboard.

Hopefully thats true

fudge the helicopters man, they're not as safe as people think. It's like flying a car except if your car has a problem it doesn't fall out of the f**king sky. Because planes are incredibly safe people think so are the helicopters but Boeing 737 notwithstanding they're in a different league of safety.

He has a newborn, so I doubt she was with him.
