Meh... I haven't really seen him excel in any position this year to be honest.
I see you missed Reds v Rebels.

Nah, I watched it... I just didn't see anything special from him.

On form this year I wouldn't have him in the Wallabies.

Who has been better than him?

Banks - good pre covid but has looked out of sorts
DHP - so injured I forget he exists
Maddocks - amongst it, but does some brain dead things time to time
Campbell - not up for it on defense yet

Definitely DHP until injury...

Banks pre-Covid, but agreed he's been poor since his injury...

Definitely Maddocks post-Covid...

Hodge is a decent utility player, but I don't think he's shown he's good enough to start anywhere.

He's safe, but not spectacular... long, unreliable boot... runs hard, but isn't going to put the defence in two minds when he simply bashes it straight into a defensive player.

He can tackle, which makes him somewhat better than all the other options.

He’s better than he’s given credit for. I reckon he will be in Rennies mix somewhere.
The other contenders, including DHP, are prone to KB like moments of madness.

Maddox might be maturing right before our eyes?

Maddox is a bit more catchy. When he’s a superstar it will suit him well Wambers.

I know it’s only an opinion board, but having the opinion that DHP has a ‘lock’ on the 15 jersey is a completely stupid opinion

That’s a fair point.

Hard to get noticed without the big glamour runs. I’ve been shouted down for suggesting as much.

I hope the positions were made up by Georgina Robinson, as there are some interesting calls.

Disappointed not a single Force player was listed. Ralston would be on my list.
Not really. Pretty predictable list if you ask me. Hunt is probably unlucky, maybe BPA too, but that's about it. I dont really see Hodge as a center tbh. Hes good enough to play there but some of his best assets are wasted in that position. Fullback or wing for my 2c.

Yes, I know I'm not a qualified Wallaby selector and rugby genius. It's just my personal speculation.

... although that said, all my picks, including the ones the PR experts laughed at, made it into the squad. Weird. Probably the same as Tupou being such a good scrummager. Dunno what I'm talking about, I just keep fluking it.

Backs are shaping up.

9. McDermott
10. JOC
11. Koroibete
12. Toomua
13. Petaia
14. Wright (Daugunu is the form winger of Super AU and has by far the most run meters, but he's too similar to MK. Might end up a better player though)
15. Hodge

JOC getting more comfortable with each outing at 10.

McDermott is a cheeky mouthy talented little carnt. Perfect test 9.

We might actually have a Wob backline where everybody can defend. Mind blowing!

Left wing. Short, so not a target for cross kicks. Not a noted kicker (though he is a decent goal kicker).

Were you fishing for something?

I’m definitely fishing for something and your invented answer wasn’t it. You probaby checked their zodiac signs while searching for justifications.
Daugunu and MK are not similar players..... other than they aren’t tall. Nice one, that.

3 Tupou
4 Phillip
5 Simmons
6 Dempsey
7 Hooper
8 Wilson
9 McDermott
10 Lolesio
11 Koroibete
12 Toomua
13 Paisami
14 Ralston
15 Campbell

Bench:

Here’s my latest effort - been a bit more experimental than usual:

1. Sio
2. Uelese
3. Tupou
4. LSL
5. Phillip
6. Valetini
7. Wright
8. Samu
9. White
10. JOC
11. MK
12. Simone
13. Kuridrani
14. Petaia
15. DHP

16. AAA
17. Robertson or HJH (if he can still play LHP)
18. Fainga’a
19. Hosea
20. Hooper
21. McDermott
22. Toomua
23. Wright

I call them, “The Mean Team”.

Few I’m not sold on.

DHP is a donkey who cannot tackle. Anyone who selects him at 15 should be permabanned.

If JOC is to be 10, then selecting the 9 who is in great form and who he plays every week with is a no brainer. The successful 9-10 from pairing from different states/franchises was Farr-Jones / Lynagh - FACT!

Out with the old duds, in the with new champions.
