I've been self isolating for the last 5 years so no skin off my nose. (I dislike people).
Seriously though, I rarely get sick so confident I'm safe myself but will obviously be staying away from the geriatrics of the society. ( I do like old people)

Me. Confirmed case in the office yesterday (wanker)

Stress levels have subsided, as has the emergency beer.

Me.

Was self isolating from last Thursday. Wife and mother both work in useful healthcare jobs, was a bit iffy on whether the new guidelines hit them, but whilst ones employer is useless, the other passed it up the chain, who said as long as I'm good, she can keep going.

Basically I live in my garden office now. Coming in to make coffee, brush teeth and go for a shit. But it means they can keep working, which is nice. My boy however isn't allowed back at school (we've been completely honest with everyone, and let them make the call on circumstances).

Still, as I've got a cold, I should be non-infectious in a few more days, and then we can hopefully get back to some semblence of normality (or at least whatever normality is, in this new world).

Have self-isolated for years now anyway but as of today I have an intruder. My wife’s company sent everyone home to work remotely for the next few weeks at least. Don’t know how I’m going to explain away all the hours wasted in front of the tv rewatching the Sopranos now :(

Can I recommend a garden office (mine is only 8ft by 10ft), and a 32 inch, 1440p monitor..

Have been since last Thursday on a preplanned getaway with the inlaws. She turned 70 today and he is well into his 80's. She wants the death penalty reinstated and he has lost several million (ZAR) in the markets and although he doesn't say so I reckon he wants the death penalty back too. I'm dropping them off at the airport tomorrow morning and heading back to civilization (Joyannesburg) to survey the damage.

I'd rather face that.

I’m currently in the study, but I can’t handle watching Ralphie get pushed down the stairs by Janice on a mid-sized monitor and I can’t come up with a plausible explanation for dragging the tv in here that won’t arouse suspicion.

There’s always porn, I guess

I don't know what use you have, but one of the reasons I love my monitor is the fact it effectively allows me to have 2 browsers open, side by side, with both readable, and able to flit between the two. Often with work on one, and youtube etc on the other. I can then watch, whilst waiting for work to load, and easily switched. I realise not everyone has a similar working pattern though.

I also tend to work from 8.30am till 22.30pm, but with lots of downtime in between.

I use double monitors instead for that same reason but neither offer a good viewing experience, especially not for prestige tv. I’m on the verge of actually doing something productive

Sell the two, upgrade for the one. OK, 32 inches isn't a TV, but you tend to sit much closer.

We are - only 3 days in.

It would be so much easier if all the sport hadn't been cancelled :(

I'm isolating, since Saturday.

The missus managed to catch it at work. She's in bed, coughing mostly, had a wee fever which has since subsided. Now I'm feeling like I might have something ffs. Anyways we're both alright, here for the duration, a week on Saturday at the least. Got supplies. Been making soups, mmmm. Oh and working from home but if I feel worse tomorrow going to call in sick, if you can't call in sick when you have Coronavirus then when the fudge can you?

For people who are able, they've been sent home to do their work. Some people however will still need to work from the office. Now that I'm management, I am required to be in the office from time to time as well, even though I could technically do all my work from home.

My son, says his work has gone mental - setting up, all the companies they support, to enable employees to work from home. He's now going to work from home apart from the rota to cover the office - but I expect he'll still have to make the odd physical visit to customers.

I guess IT support, Supermarkets and Amazon are amongst the few businesses seeing a much higher workload (Oh and the Health industry, of course). Netflix et al are probably seeing an increase as well.

My wife works at a hospital so bring on germ central. I am knocking on the doors of old folks most days (delivering meals).

I'm probably screwed but I'll take heaps with me.

Flying back to Beijing on Sunday. Already done a month of self isolation in China and NZ but got two more weeks of isolation in a quarantine facility in BJ to look forward to when I return. They're basically converting unused hotels in to quarantine facilities and putting a bunch of medical staff in them. I'll also be charged circa NZD$120 a day for the privilege of going on home D. Can't wait :smug: .

My wife is in the same position. NHS staff are going to be a big problem.

I've had a bit of a head cold for about a week now but have none of the main symptoms so generally going about my business.

Someone was saying it's just the flu. We'll all be grand in a week or something like that.
