I have a motorhome and we had thought of getting away for a couple of days. Not at campsites but at locations we know that over overlook lochs and glens. Get out for a wander and then back to the van. We take everything with us and bring it all back. Yes ...we have cesspit at our house.

So even though we live in the Highlands, I suspect we will be treated the same as those coming from the cities.

There was some Scottish doctor on the telly earlier utterly exasperated with all the tits turning up to go skiing at Glencoe over the weekend.

No, you wouldn’t.
So the locals are happy?

Government advice has been its ok to go out into the open and exercise. So you can see why this has happened.
Most people took that advice to include paying attention to 'keeping social distance'. I jogged around Bushy Park yesterday, all the other runners had enough cop on to take a wide berth around each other by leaving the path and keeping several metres distance.

If you rocked up to Snowdon car park and saw the congestion and crowds you would turn the car around, not park your car and get out. They are f*cking retards.
I can see lots of cars on that photo, but no crowds. Should be easy to keep your distance on a mountain TBF.

Sounds a bit viralphobic bro.

I will be a the train station here when the train comes in from London with my sign saying 'asymptomatic carriers welcome'.
You need to have more of a take back control attitude

You are a moron
They seem to be proliferating in proportion to the virus.

There’s plenty campervans going across to the Hebrides on the remaining calmac sailings at the moment. You’ve more fingers on your hand than there is ventilators on the islands.

The island of Barra is going to be treating patients on camp beds in the village hall until evacuation can be sorted to the mainland.

I just don’t get it. Where’s the common sense heading all the way to the far reaches of the supply chain, with minimal medical provision, and where there is an ageing population. It’s a time bomb waiting to happen for th relocalise population.

There is a way to deal with the outsiders....

I imagine the crowds are snaking their way up the narrow track to the summit.

They're scared as well, which can't be discounted. If there was less ambiguity in the guidelines from the government and more rigid instructions, a lot of this fleeing to rural areas and having days out in national parks would be reduced.
Much as this is likely to be true, you’d think the massive queues of cars parked on the Pen-y-Pass road might have suggested going somewhere other than Snowdon might be a good plan.
I didnt realise you could park on that road, the number of times we've had to climb other mountains because there's no parking. Hordes of people puffing and blowing up the miners track, might not be such a good idea.
You can’t. It’s a clearway. The lot of them would be ticketed in normal times.

Colleague of mine is in isolation in Fife, his house is next door to a holiday home/camp site and apparently it was full to overflowing over the weekend.

I can sort of understand going somewhere you think might be more remote to sit out the storm, especially in some form of comfort, but this is taking the piss now.

There were cars packed with suitcases streaming into Cornwall over the weekend. :x

Thankfully many of the holiday parks are now closing and cancelling bookings. Isles of Scilly are cancelling all bookings across the islands

You know what, I hate graffiti but in this case it’s entirely appropriate

Seeing all those Lycra clad cycle twats in Richmond park yesterday on the telly, I hoped they all got punctures and itchy scrot

Was down in Farnborough working over the weekend and we passed a few parks that were full of families with young and old people just crammed in near the playground equipment.

So, I’ve read on shitter, northern Wales is crammed full of tourists escaping the cities to the east and Gwynedd has 11 ICU beds.

More details from their Facebook page
“ Callout 28: 23 Mar - Tryfan.
Just after 0830 this morning a male rang to say he was stuck on the west face of Tryfan. Dressed in jeans and trainers he had travelled up earlier this morning from Birmingham and had climbed Tryfan to take photographs of Llyn Bochlwyd or Idwal (It's hard to say as he had no map to relate to). He attempted to descend the west face but became stuck, wet and cold, in one of the gullies and called for help. Once the by now familiar Covid 19 checks had been established a team lead climbed up to him and made him safe. They conducted a multi pitch lower to safe ground and he was confidence roped back down to the roadside and spoken to. Unbelievably, he asked where he should go tomorrow to get some good photos but was advised he should maybe go home instead.”
Should have left the cünt there.

Yes. Though obviously there are plans in place to expand ITU provision as much as can be managed.

Hopefully today’s announcement by the government will result in people going home. I had already heard that a bunch of caravan and campsites had already closed. Not much you can do about second homes though.
