At least this explains why they were convinced they couldn't lockdown earlier. the government looked in the mirror and saw their shitty selfish selves staring back at them. Fortunately the vast majority of UK citizens are far better people than those in the government.

Given Jacob's comments that people in Grenfell Tower didn't have the wherewithal to live there's a decent chance he's champing at the bit to go on the record (providing it's vellum) with the above

And your explanation for his return to London, back to Durham and day trips to Barnard Castle?

A point that didn't come to me initially, Cummings obviously knew there was a second trip when news of the first came out.

That either means he let some prominent Tories debase themselves in his defence on the news of the first trip, without letting them know about the second.
OR they were made aware and chose to degrade their positions in the hopes the second trip wasn't known.

The important thing about Dom Cummings doing this is it owns libs.
So what if he's unelected, breaking crucial pandemic rules multiple times and showing scorn for the press.
That's great because it owns libs.

Going back to work isn't an issue is it?

Not heard about Bernard Castle, but I did hear there was a sighting in Australia and one on Tahiti. Many people walking past are 'very upset' apparently.

Of course he did because he loves his family as Gove states "Caring for your wife and child is not a crime". Clearly those who obeyed lockdown rules evidently just didn't care enough to see ill members of their families and didn't care enough to attend funerals in person etc...

Perhaps if the government he advises had clarified how to interpret lockdown rules for your own convenience it may have prevented this unfortunate situation.

People are fairly resourceful. There are hundreds of thousands who have flouted the rules, and others who would have bent them die to personal circumstances. He did neither.

Rules like if you're symptomatic leave your house, and if you're exposed to someone who is symptomatic for god's sake don't isolate, and of course Captain Tom did 100 laps so you too can complete 100 laps of a nearby circuit, or if you want unwind the circuit and head off in one long distance of travel

Come on. He clearly didn't. Even if the trip to his parents was bending the rules for good reason we now have multiple offences.

Though I see on Twitter that Starmer might not be able to attack as harshly as the media with 2 MPs who broke the lockdown, Tahir Ali and in the case of Stephen Kinnock he rewarded with with a front bench job.

I'm slightly amused how in attacking him for breaking the guidance they are overtly breaking social distancing guidance there. None of them with any irony.

Left wing media, the defenders of social distancing rules...Nnbelievable hypocrisy there. He may have broken the rules (travelling was still allowed under exceptional circustances I belive so I am not sure) but this really is a minor issue and they are making it as if he's engaged in criminal activity. The reality is left wing media and ultra remainer types hate Cummins and would go to any lengths to see him gone.

The media don't appreciate the irony of demanding whether it's 'one rule for you' whilst they're clustered around inches from each other's faces.

Travel in exceptional circumstances was allowed. The only people annoyed are bubblers and the Scots..... Oh, forgot the swarm....and people who were innocently walking past the house were very upset too, I see reported.

brexit derangement syndrome:

symptoms include claiming cummings broke lockdown rules when the government guidelines clearly made allowances for those looking after children. even the BBC conceded this point

Hello tosser
fudge off Brixton weirdo.
I guessed it was a dig at me being black the first time but I thought maybe not that is why I asked. Do carry on though.

Travelling for work or exceptional circumstances was allowed
This was neither
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

I think it’s safe to assume he ended up with family in Durham because the families in Cambridge and Oxford rejected him.

He should be gone though whether those want it or not. If you make rules you must stand by them
He didn't break any guidelines though, did he?

This is about whether it's a 'good look'
Matt Hancock said it was an instruction not advise that one must remain at home.

Cummings seemingly didn't have to follow that instruction. Wonder why that would annoy people
Travel in exceptional circumstances was allowed. The only people annoyed are bubblers and the Scots..... Oh, forgot the swarm.
Travelling in exceptional circumstances while carrying the virus?

Let's call this for what it is. Two fingers to the people of the UK who followed the rules. Very wreckless and means the people of the UK could do what Cummings did in future if there is another lockdown. I doubt the man on the street would get away with it like Cummings might. I hope he's sacked though .

Either he was okay to look after the child and there was no need to travel, or he was ill and shouldn't have been driving across country.

If he'd needed someone to come and collect a child they are unable to look after that I understand, but not to take the child himself.
