Not quite sure the point you are making, but as a tax payer I am sure you would agree that it is an extremely good use of yours and my money.

Unless you are wanting to argue against feeding hungry kids?

Hang on I want my tax money to go to shell companies and consultancy firms in dodgy procurement deals. I didn't sign up to kids getting fed.

Another U-turn for the government, because they can't make rational decisions on policies. This was an open goal with no opposition and they still managed to kick it against their own posts before being shown the way.

Best I've got is the Cummings fiasco has inculcated them into a default position of trying to defend the indefensible. And I quite agree this was just out and out weirdness from the government, pissing political capital away for no possible gain

I'm not sure they've told us, not the cost of the department securing a service that never existed nor how much of the money was recouped and whether there was any further payout to compensate the contract for a service that never existed being withdrawn.

DfID and FCO to merge.

Probably the end of the distinct .7% GDP on aid policy.

Or expanding the welfare state isn't what the conservatives want to do?

And the U-turn because enough Tory MPs and a lost vote would look bad.

Why just single out rich footballers for your tax Bimbo?

And in the case of Rashford, he has made big donations himself and set up a partnership to raise food and funds to feed poor people.
Yes, he's got it easy now earning big money, but he's doing a lot of good with it and making an impact. He hasn't earned a sainthood, but he deserves praise - if only more people with big wealth started/supported initiatives like that the country would be a lot better off.

Why the government took so long to get in line with a positive message and initiative like this is anybody's guess, to deflect from that is just very lame.

Well I’d start by making Marcus Rashfords take home pay the same as mine, there’s 10’s of millions right there. If we only did that for Man Utd we would have multiples of the cost involved. And everyone is happy right ?

He’s made the tax payer incur a large cost. Maybe we should ask who should pay for that if not him.

The answer of course is everybody else.
