Yes really. Some time soon similar policy changes will be made by noise and media and it’ll be something you don’t approve of. It’s a terrible way to govern.
You mean there aren't ex MP's, Spads and party donors lobbying their own interests affecting policy already. Unfortunately we rarely get to hear most of those
Not comparable to what Rashford achieved today

As I said one day you won’t approve. All we’ve done is take another step to a socialist state.

I was happy to have a go at Labour, but it turns out they didn't go the full John Terry after all:
Labour has also been campaigning on the issue and sent a letter about it to Education Secretary Gavin Williamson on 8 June. It was also raised in the House of Commons on 9 June.
Quote from the BBC fact-checker on the issue.

Still raises the question why a footballer was more effective in raising concerns about a social issue than the whole opposition party (i.e. few were even aware Labour had raised it).

Oh, and Boris saying he wasn't aware of the issue until today? Feck off you lying bum.

Imagine being this angry at the government for helping disadvantaged children eat properly.

Of all the things they spunk our money on, this is probably the least objectionable.

It is.

But when they can't or won't letting them go hungry isn't a decent option. It should be the parents job, that doesn't mean it happens. Hence the need for a policy for when it doesn't. It isn't f#cking rocket science.

It especially applies in times when the jobs market, which provides the ability to protect a family is crashing due to a global pandemic.

I’m neither upset nor fixated about the poor kids. I’m laughing at the government taking policy from a footballer and everyone cheering on tax rises.

I'd get the upset there isn't a plan to get them three decent meals a day, objecting to them getting one is perverse. Even more so if the concern is cost given in the longer term reasonable analysis would say it's cheaper to have decent social housing, nutrition and health services upfront than deal with the outcome of bad services

Covid tax is inevitable, and this will be a great help to the kids for relatively little money in the grand scheme (though the dinner ladies union will obviously be up in arms).
Taking it from a footballer is because the opposition were totally unable to make a case.

Listening to people with experiences of policy failings who have suggestions to change that policy is stupid politics. It should remain a parlour game for the wealthy.

You obviously are upset. No one else gives a damn on he source of he policy. Yes he's a footballer, but also he's one whose grew up poor and used his past experience to try and help inform the government of a flaw in society.

Meanwhile you've bitched it;s up tot he parents to take care of kids with not one shred of empathy that not all kids are looked after and do go hungry away from school.

So it's the opposition's fault that the government is incompetent, righto
