It’s basically a re-enactment of an oxbridge debating society atmosphere, which is of course where most of these people cut their teeth. It’s a bit of craic but it doesn’t achieve much. David McWilliams argues that the British system promotes the type of person who would excel in this type of system.
Most PMs and leaders of the opposition have been rather average in this system. Mr McWilliams is taking shite

Good to see the government have finally decided to get serious on people having parties and raves. I know it seems like a lot of money but months of warnings didn't work and £100.00 fines made no difference. It's taken them long enough but better late than never
A student who was fined £10,000 for an illegal house party of more than 50 people has apologised.
The 19-year-old was issued with the fixed penalty notice after ignoring warnings to shut down the party at his Nottingham home on Friday night.
In a letter sent to his neighbours, he said the "foolish gathering" was a "major lapse of judgement".
Nottinghamshire Police said the group was breaking social distancing rules and the fine should serve as a warning.
It said about 50 people found at the address on Harlaxton Drive, in Lenton, refused to leave and the host was issued with the fine.

Michael Gove will be PM in 2021. No chance Hancock and Johnson survive this one. Even for Johnson. Lying, affairs, being generally useless is one thing but the huge amount of deaths is quite another.
Perception of government handling is going down, but hardly 'through the floor'. This is to be expected when they are being attacked from both sides, but is still high.

As Ian Lavery, chairman of Labour party said, thousands of people dying is an excellent opportunity for the Labour party

Voting intention is almost unchanged, although Labour seem to have picked up some remainers since millionaire Keir Starmer took over. The only region where conservative isn't largely the voters choice is London, where it's about 50/50.
You and Bimbo were told but you kept pretending it wasn't happening and it was just a media beat up.

Labour up 26 points and now neck and neck with the Tories. This government is incompetent and won't do the decent thing when they are caught out breaking their own rules or doing favours for their mates costing hard up councils millions. It's only going to get worse for the Tories led by these Muppets

It's a two point gain to lbour and a one point loss from tories. Lib Dems and tories are losing red votes as Brexit with a deal seems to be about to happen,

It's 26 points since March. 2 points in a couple of weeks though I'm sure that makes you feel good.
Labour is now level-pegging with the Conservatives, according to the latest Opinium poll for the Observer, which shows the Tories have lost a massive 26-point lead in the five months since March.

The survey – which puts the two main parties on 40% of the vote (the Conservatives are down two points and Labour up one point on a fortnight ago) – will cause further alarm in Tory ranks as internal unrest over the performance of Boris Johnson’s government grows.

Labour and the Tories are level pegging. Starmer is ahead of Boris but having lost such a big lead and still showing incompetence every day the Tories will be way behind in the near future

Firm run by ex-associate of Tory peer Michelle Mone wins £112million NHS deal

A firm run by the former business associate of Tory peer Baroness Mone won a £122million contract to supply PPE to the NHS just seven weeks after it was set up.

PPE Medpro was started by Anthony Page on the day he quit as the secretary of the company that deals with Baroness Mone’s “brand”.

Just 44 days later, PPE Medpro won a Department of Health contract – not advertised to other bidders – to supply 25 million gowns for health workers.

Mr Page is also a director of finance firm Knox Group, founded by Baroness Mone’s fiance Doug Barrowman.

Jolyon Maugham of The Good Law Project, told the Mirror: “Another hugely lucrative PPE contract has been awarded to a firm with no obvious qualification beyond links to very substantial donors to the Conservative Party.”

A spokeswoman for Baroness Mone said: “Baroness Mone has no comment as she has no role or involvement in PPE Medpro.

I see Baroness' Mone's former associate is a non UK taxpaying IOM resident

I see that we have a £100 million plus contract awarded (without competition, supra) to a Company with just £100 share capital

I see that this £100 company's website misleadingly claims in "About Us":-

All our products are shipped directly from our factories after extensive product testing, safety certification verification and detailed product inspection [ "our factories" ]

Would this be Pissen Mone's sister?

OK OK, I'm going...

What is the insinuation? Is Baroness Mone on the committee handing our contracts? Or is it that voting conservative before a global pandemic is good for you?

Yep.

But if his job is to hand out grants, then he's doing his job. Ridiculous and sheer politicking to suggest otherwise.

The job was supposedly to hand our grants to the 100 most deprived areas in the UK, I believe Newark is 270th on the list. I think they should find out if officials advised against it. It wouldn't be the only time with this guy would it.
